Hey Everyone. I had recently acquired a Dazon buggy with the EFI 1100 chery engine and 5 speed trans. It seems to have decent power in gears 1st thru 3rd but when shifted into 4th it has absolutely no power. It cant even maintain its speed and will start to slow down. This is with the buggy unloaded of any extra weight, a single 220lbs rider and smaller than stock rear tires.

Im sure the fuel has been sitting for sometime but other than that any ideas on where to start to bring power back?

I am mechanically inclined just not familiar with this engine.

Maybe start by checking your fuel pressure? Typically around 50 psi...

Ok thanks. I will read the other post you linked.

Are these buggies listed under another brand name as well?

Joyner and Oreion use the same Chery engine.

I checked all the hoses and I replace a couple that looked dry rotted. Pulled the air intake off and removed filter and found a pile of sand in the air box. Spent 10 mins straight of just tapping sand out of the air filter. So put it back together and got it up to 70 mph on the speedo. So I'm guessing that's what my problem was! I did make notes on the fuel system problems in the link you posted too.

Now I believe my clutch is slipping, barely wants to move. I'll post about that in the appropriate area.
