Sound like the charging system died on you from what you say. The starter is the part that take the most power to start the engine. Soon the engine is running, you need minimal power. You drained the battery slowly until you didn't have enough power anymore to even supply the ignition system. When you tried to start it again, the click you heard was the solenoid clicking to engage the starter but the starter didn't have enough power to spin.

Solution: Charge your battery with a 2 amps charger, can be a 10 amps but charging your battery slowly will extend it's life.

Soon you have a full charge battery, the machine should start. Take a multimeter and test the battery connection. You should have more than 12.8 volts. If you don't it mean something is wrong with your charging system. It can be the stator or rectifier.

Start with that and post back the result.

Did you add or change any electrical components, like light that need more power?

there is after market led pods on the back, but they were turned off. other than that it has a aftermarket cdi on it that I recently put on. I tried to use my little jump box for it, but still wouldn't start. I'll try to small charge it and see what happens tomorrow.
Thanks for the idea, others are saying possible motor lock

If you put a multimeter on the battery now, what is the reading?
