Does anyone know anything about "BDX Performance S1 GY6 Exhaust Kit *BEST PRICED BOLT ON EXHAUST*"?

I have been wanting to upgrade the exhaust since all the engine mods I did over the winter. Now the guts in my stock muffler have come loose and are rattling so I ordered one of these from BD. I wish I had ordered one when they came out with them. They were only $99 then. Now they are $150.

Are they any good? Are they loud? Any comments?

BD is good at performance testing all their parts before selling them, so I would expect good things from it. JerseyDevil also makes custom exhausts for our buggies and people have been happy with them. I cannot tell you how loud either one is, but I think both are louder than OEM. In my area they must have screens to prevent fires if not USFS rated - If this is your case, make sure you inquire before purchase.

Thank You! Out of all the internet searching I've done, I don't recall running across his site.

That's how I found BD. I had forgotten about that page. Thanks for the reminder.

Heads up, the BD header and muffler do not fit the Crossfire 150R.

Might want to talk to Doug at BD, I know he fitted one of the BDX Performance exhausts on a Crossfire 150R early on. There may have been a specific install process he used to get it to fit.

The BDX exhaust has a USFS-spec removable/cleanable stainless spark arrestor screen, it goes between the header and muffler sections.

And on the sound levels, it comes with a DB-killer insert (removable with a 5 or 6mm hex key that I think is also included) at the end of the muffler that hushes it down to near stock level when you need it quiet. I'm curious how what results we'll see on the dyno with the insert in versus out.

Travis, I can't get anyone to respond from BD about either returning or making one that will fit my Crossfire 150R after several emails. I just sent one through their contact button on their web site letting them know I will dispute the charges if I don't hear from them by Monday. What should I do? No one will respond.

Resurrecting an old thread here...

Travis, I just received the BDX performance exhaust and it does not have a spark arrestor on it. Is this available separately? Or is there any other options for spark arrestors on these?

Thanks

I'm not sure. Barry took the shop equipment that was left over after the sale of Buggy Depot in October and formed BDX Performance with a previous employee. Since then I don't really know what's going on in Virginia, but just to be clear they aren't Buggy Depot. Would have been better if they'd chosen a less similar name IMO.

I'd give Doug or Barry a call. Doesn't make sense to me that they'd both increase the price by $50, and also cut costs by removing features. But it's their decision to make (and explain).

They have now added the spark arrestor to their website as "Spark Erustor" $15.99.

Mine should be in next week.
