I'm going this weekend to go pick up the Hammerhead so I will be using this as my forum where I will be posting what I'm doing and asking questions if needed.

So I'm going Saturday to go pick up the Hammerhead for $400 (with gas it'll be more like $450) as stated in another post it should run but needs: new gas tank, fuel petcock, battery, and seats. I just bought a gas tank from Go Power Sports for $30 along with a petcock for $47 (including shipping) and I already have a battery which is on my Spiderbox so all I would need to be up and rolling would be seats. The seat backs, and headrests appear to be overall in good condition but the bottom, part where you put your bum part of the seat is gone due to weather. My questions are: has anyone found a good replacement thats less than $50 each, and could the Jegs seats that are on my yerf transferable to the hammerhead with little to no extra work? Thanks.

Would something like this work as a seat?

Or you can just get the replacement seat bottoms for a little more money. These might work, it says for 150cc or 250cc. https://hammerheadperformance.com/repla ... 3-0401-01l

They say that since it was made before 2017 if I buy that I'll have to replace the top part and the bottom

What should I do after I buy the hammerhead? Like what are good things to check/change when you first get it besides oil?

I would look for RZR seats and just ditch the factory seats all together.

The only things I've seen really commonly screwed up on the 250SS is the hi/low box on the early models. Everything else is basically "make sure someone at some point tried to take care of it".

Yes, flush the coolant system and add new. I'd change all the fluids if it were mine.

Okay so I got it and there a few issues. First, I don't know where this hose goes to (top left-ish) and when the engine started to sputter to life oil spewed out. Second, I was testing the shifter lever (while pressing the break) and the shifter lever just broke off and I don't know if I'll have to buy a whole new shifter assembly for about $80. Third I cant get the dash to come on without it cranking the engine and when I let it go the kill switch is engaged. Thanks.

Put a 130 jet in the carb (saw that performance kits include a 130 carb) today and changed the oil. Battery is charging and will see if it runs tomorrow. Fixed the shifter by drilling a hole and stick a screw driver in the hole and now I can shift!

Not sure which hose you're referring to, but it most likely would have gone to the factory air box. If there is no longer one of those, you can route it upward and put a little filter on it.

I know its not the best but I took apart a fuel filter and used its filter for it for the short term before I get a more suitable filter. I think I'll be able to drive the buggy today! I just need the battery to be charged. I'm really excited!

Electric enricher. In your case, someone touched some wires from the ignition switch, maybe they touch that too. Check to make sure everything is connected properly. 1 wire goes to the temp sensor. 1 wire goes to a resistor and the other one go to the power.

Check the resistor to make sure it still work, check the enricher, you can remove it and put 12 volts to it. It will become hot if it work and the needle will extend.

Neither wires appear to go to the enricher. Which wire goes to the temp sensor? oh, and do any of you have a wiring diagram for the 250 ss?

Clean the carb good and adjust the valves.
