I've been browsing for a while and finally was directed here. I hope to be a regular here but I'm very new to the Buggy world so please bare with me for now.

Three years ago my family purchased a Buggy from a neighbor. It's run well since then but has been getting a little sluggish compared to what it was.I've changed the oil once since we picked it up(Only runs once or twice a year).

My biggest question is what Make and Model is it? All I know is it's made in China. It looks something like a Twister Hammerhead but not quite there. It's water cooled, and centrifugal clutch (I believe.)

Any information or direction to find information could help. I can get more detailed pictures later in the week.

Thanks for your time,
-Ed

Thank you so much! That gets me in the right direction.

What make and model is a "hh250"? I found info on BMS and less definitive info on other makes.
This is what the engine resembles from best I can tell right now.

That is not a HH, I have exactly the same buggy, have never been able to identify it. A lot of HH parts will fit tho. That has a 4" longer wheel base than a 250HH. It will have an open differential unless someone has modified it. If you go to Coyote Run Hill climb posted earlier you will see my son doing a hill climb with ours..Not a bad buggy.

Ah too bad, this won't be as easy as I would of hoped. What parts from an 250HH are similar? I'm specifically looking for engine, trans, and brake master cylinder information. It is an open Dif.

I agree the buggy is fun. I believe it's time for a refresh tho to bring it back. :)

I'll browse that posting, can you give me a hint on which page it might be on?

Thanks for the info,
Ed

Can you post a picture of the rear end? That will help with narrowing down which parts might fit.

Will do, thank you.

Glad to hear it. I hope that's the case. I'm concerned about engine parts such as piston rings, whats the correct CC, and drive-train mostly. The more I know about what I have the easier this will be.

Dash might help identify.

These are the best pictures I have as of right now. I will upload lots of detailed pictures by Sunday. I hope you guys can help me figure it out then.

I really appreciate everyone's reply. This the third forum I've tried and so far you've been the most helpful.

That buggy has a gear box like the 05/06 HH with the cn250 engine. Any part that you need for that engine is the same as the earlier HH250. Now the gear box is a different matter, Where the HH has a spool of sorts yours will have a regular differential. I took mine apart and welded up the spider gears to the cross pin to make it a locked rear end, This makes this buggy a lot better trail buggy. Your front end parts are the same as HH as far as I can tell so you should be ok. It has the same wheel bolt pattern as the HH so any wheels that they use you can use. You have caliper for each real wheel as oposed to a single on the HH.

Do you have the manuals for it? I have a set but have found that there are discripencies in it so it is not a lot of help. If you have any questions feel free to contact me and I will help you if I can. If you look at my signature you will see it listed as KM2250R or as I refer to it a my HH wanabe. Any mods you can do to a HH engine wise you can do to this buggy

That's exactly what I needed! That will get me on my way to bring it up to speed. I'll be able to work on it Saturday and I'll consider to locked read end and if that's something that will really benefit me. If so I'll be PMing you and thank you for the offer. Is this the gear box that I'd be working with? http://gokartsusa.com/roketagk-06GEARBOX.aspx

I don't have any manuals for it but even some inconsistencies is better than no manual. I'll be looking for 2005/2006 Hammer Head 250 manuals correct? I did also notice your signature and I Googled KM2250R a bit and I'll look into it more.

This has really helped.
I'll take detailed pictures and measurements then post an informational thread. Hopefully this could help someone else in the future.

Good luck looking, I haven't had much but then I am not the best when it comes to searching on here. As for that gearbox it could be....but dang they are sure proud of it. Just so you know you have to take it apart to get it off the engine. There is an internal snap ring on the input shaft that you have to remove to slide it off.

I will try to post some more pictures of mine if I think of it.

From the rear, it looks like a 2006 and older Hammerhead 250. Do you have a side shot of the engine?
