is there piston and ring's 10 over for the 650?. my engine need's to be machined and the guy that is going to do it said for 150.00 he can take the cylinder's down so i can use 10 thousand piston and ring's. other wise he'll have to line bore etc the engine and put in the sleeve's cylinder etc kit i bought but he said it will be 600-700 to do all that.

Look at old Team Farm and Ghosthunter posts for these parts when they documented their builds.

You will need to search for over sized piston rings for a Mitsubishi Minice 2G24.

Original ring part numbers from Mitsubishi were: MD018280 MD016760 MD016765 MD019610

This thread is your biggest resource since I have not owned one the last 13 years: https://www.buggynews.com/sandspider-65 ... 18564.html

If you run a larger piston, you need larger rings. I never tried a standard piston with larger rings but doubt they would stay in the grooves.

Do you need to bore it or just hone it?
.010 is not alot. Do you have a big ridge at the top? You will have to remove it.
Are the bores tapered out of spec?
If you use .010 over rings and with not quite. 010 over bores you will definitely need to do ring end gap. This is ofcourse if you can't find 10 over pistons.

he said if i can find .010 thou over he can hone it. no there is no rige at the top. he put a gauge on it moved from the bottom to the top and it about 3-4 thou wear in the middle to the top and the specs said it has to be under 2 thou. so he said if i can find .010 over and ring's he can do it for 150.00. if i use the kit with the sleeve's it will be 600-700 to do it all. i might just go with putting the sleeve's in if/when i find the .010 piston/ring's i'd probably have close to 500-700 in it any way.
