I have a 2008 hammerhead 250 SS. Something just doesn’t seem to be right with this, I can go out and start it for the first time and it seems to run OK but the longer you ride it it seems like the more it drains the battery and then when you go to restart it it acts like a dead battery. Aren’t these things supposed to charge the battery when it is running? As you could see in the video it’s not doing that. Also why does mine sound so erratic?

When the engine is running, the st a tpr is spinning and making AC voltage. The AC is fed into the regulator/rectifier to convert to DC.

When off measure battery voltage. When running measure it again - It should be higher. If the voltage goes up, it is charging and your battery is failing. If the voltage is the same or less when running, measure the AC off the stator connector. If AC is there, your rectifier is bad. If no AC, the stator is bad.
