Wait til you get that head on there. You'll love it. Regarding your low gear skipping issue, how loose or tight is your shift linkage? I blew out a brand new low gear set because my front motor mount was loose, it would bounce up/down under load which would cause it to try to shift/jump gears. Papa ...

Possibly your clutch is slipping? It's a centrifugal clutch, so it needs to be at certain speeds to throw out the clutch arms to engage the clutch bell. If you are noticing it at slower speeds, but not at higher speeds, that might be an indicator. Also, check the rollers in the variator (the front h...

So it's $30/ day to camp? Does that include riding? Plus the IL sticker.

I marked the adjuster on the valves and so I have it in the same place they were when it ran.

You should still adjust them. I cannot stress that enough. These things get out of adjustment all the time. I do mine every riding season.

I don't think they have camping. Would have to stay at the lodge, or day ride and stay somewhere else. Bummer.

You can just add some oil to the cylinder and then check compression. If it increases compression, then I believe you problem is likely the rings.

That's incredibly low compression. Did you adjust the valves?

I think my old ones would have been fine. The real problem was the front motor mount was loose allowing the motor to hop up and down under load. That would change the shift position because is mounted to the frame. So it would be forced out of gear, and the teeth would get rounded.
