All this discussion is good, but aren't we a little late to plan the Spring 2020 ride?

There's also a place in Illinois called Ruffcorn Farms. No facilities other than porta-potties, but they previously said we could camp there.

Harpoles looks nice, and it's decent size, would need to see if they are open to us less-than-sofisticated campers.

Great time this week, glad we all got to meet up. Tom Syc and Gary, we missed you. Wished you would have made it. My machine was down, but Travis and Papa Rich were gracious enough to haul me around a couple days. Good to see everybody. Ate good, had a few (more than a few) beverages, some good camp...

The insides look good. That is usually where they fail. Those lugs get rounded over, and then waller out the bigger gear. Those are the gears that are hard to find.
Hopefully that chip won't be an issue.

That's good news. What do the inside of those gears look like? The one with the 3 lugs and its mate?

Edit: here's the "everything you need to know about the CFMoto gears" thread.

Try and save that gasket for the transmission case - can't get that, either.

Yes, it is a CFMoto 250 motor/trans the same as the Hammerhead (2007+). You'll need to get the gears out and check them. If you can source them, all the power to you. You cannot get them new anywhere I have looked (and I have looked, and looked). The shift mechanism on that one is different than the...

Sorry, but I think you have a more serious issue than your shift cable. Sounds like your gears are badly damaged. Those are near impossible to locate replacements.

I wonder if those gears could be cleaned up. Filled with weld, machined back to original, and then hardened. I'm not a machinist, so I've no idea. Papa Rich took a set of my used gears and machined out the bad parts - took a little off both gears so the round parts were gone. I never did run them, t...

Mine's currently running on a used set of gears. So far, so good. Been in there a couple years, but I don't ride it much.
