Hey everyone,

We've got a special coupon code active for all BuggyNews members through the end of 2012.

Enter coupon code "BuggyNews2012" (without the quotes) during the checkout process to save $25 off any order totaling $150 or more. You will need to have at least $150 worth of items in your shopping cart for the coupon to work, and it cannot be used towards shipping costs.

This is a great time to save even more money on our package deals, exhausts, clutches, or get that big-bore kit you've been thinking of for a winter project!

I hope everyone has a happy, safe, and fun Thanksgiving and Christmas season with their friends and family, and thank you very much for supporting us these past 5 years!

Thanks for the kind words, guys.

TeamFarm: I can't remember what mods Garrett already has on his buggy. I'm pretty sure he already has the UNI filter, but beyond that?

Are you looking for more HP from an Endrigo head, or transmission mods or ??

Edit: Forgot to say that I might be able to come visit you on the coast this year, but it would probably be a day trip. I've missed you guys!

ANNNNNNNNDDDDD... Grutz and I have already agreed that because of you wonderful Washingtonians passing a certain law that we will DEFINITELY be at Moses Lake 2013!

And... probably needs a BB kit (my young hotshot has been 'still' bringing me 4.o report cards !!!)
I wanna keep him reliable, and concentrate towards more low end grunt/torque. My plate seems to be always full (with other eng mods) so... altho Ive not listened in and kept up too much with the Gy6's firebreathing potential, what is this ive heard yo can also set me up with a "already prepped for the BB" crankcase ??
I dont have a spare 15o motor or head sitting around--how close to "plug & play" can you get me on an oversized jug, case, and reworked Endrigo head ??

hes got a pretty solid clutch settup & we've slidered down to 9grams (I think we have the malossi vari in there) he does good with his top speed at max of about 38, so not looking to do more or less there...

As I mentioned above (or in another thread - can't remember), I don't have any pre-bored cases at all. I was just mentioning it for someone else as their best option for going with a 180cc kit.

The biggest "drop-in" kit that we have that will be safe and reliable without requiring crankcase boring (or a bigger pre-bored) case is the 155cc kit.

That being said, an Endrigo Stage 2+ or Stage 3 head will work amazing even with the stock cylinder/piston size.

You may end up wanting HEAVIER weights after upgrading the head - I needed heavier weights in my buggy because I had too MUCH low-end power and was just digging holes for myself when the dirt/sand was too soft!

Heavier weights will also keep the RPMs down lower and keep the motor cooler, which helps out when you've got the more powerful head on there.

As for Mel's turbo kit? I don't have anything like that!

Hi Mike
I spent a lit'l time researching the Gy6 and have a fair comprehension now (i think) of what Id like and what it takes...

The Turbo Pumkin... is already running with elect upgrades (perf coil, CDI & irridium plug), he's got your Velocty stack and large Uni, the perf HH exh system, I mentioned the cvt mods, his eng runs top notch-not worn out-etc
And
(you'll remember he is now a single seater w/onboard cooler & cup holder :D , we've blinged it out with lites & even a custom built trunk storage & spoiler)...

Im not in a hurry on this project (yet) my plates pretty full at the moment (probably do this for him as an Xmas gift-so he and I can work together on this),,,
but as i mentioned he has earned something special !!!

I want to do what I can for him, thru you at BPNW-soo...
Im thinking the stage 3 Indrigo head & (even tho it does not need piston/rings yet) probably also do the oversized 155cc kit !!

If I understand all this correctly, Id get a complete head & cylinder ??
... this would give me a spare cyl (to get radical with later-is the sleave and max sized piston + stroker crank available; in the future? ...come as a parts only kit (or simply have availability of these components 'for future upgrades' ??

Thanks for your patience with me guys, this is new stuff to me & I havent kept up at all with the Gy6's potential for "radical" (while keeping it fairly reliable)-Im starting to read what others have done & hoping to continue my learning curve...
I wanna work towards this Radical... but keep it simple for now--while still getting a "complete" rebuilt top end, done for him this season.

thanks Mike, guys
Jeff

Let me know when you want to get this started. Dave's plate is filling up quickly as we've had people coming out of the woodwork recently interested in cylinder heads as winter projects (where were they all summer when Dave was bored out of his mind!?!)

Yes.

Typically, we have replacement rings, gaskets, and pistons in stock (most of the time) for the 155cc kits, but sometime next year I think I'll begin stocking those items for the 170cc and 180cc kits - just don't have them right now and they're not currently in the budget.

So, yes- eventually we'll have all that stuff when you get around to upgrading it further!

Do you have any performance parts (heads/cams/valvesprings) for the SYM-Carter 2-bolt engines?

Hi xbird,

Unfortunately, the SYM engine is different enough in those areas that we don't have any upgrades for them. The good news is that your should have a 4-valve head head and be more powerful than the average GY6 right out of the box!

You can still do air intake and exhaust mods, as well as the transmission and electrical upgrades on that motor.

I have been pretty impressed with the engine. I've "found" what i need for the cvt as far as a setup goes that suits me. Tom @ SYC did work with them in the past but doesn't have any upgrade parts left, just hoping to luck into something (leftover shelf stock) for them. I've been considering having him do the head, but if the valvetrain can't support the improvements, its kind of a waste. Likewise i have a Sunl engine that i'm thinking of going the BBK route with but wonder if it will be much of an improvement over the SYM or a lot of money for little gain.
