Nice looking truck... I've always loved the hood on these things.

Well I can't use that frame, it is bent. :( I was able to cut off the shock mounts and weld them to the other frame. Now I am cutting out any thin metal and replacing it. This will be completely rust free when I'm done.

I have been busy as of late. Here is the frame I am using.

File comment: This was where the shock mount used to be. It had a little rust hole in it so I cut it out.

Last weekend coated it with chassis coat and then I was able to turn it into a rolling chassis.

After a lot of trips to the parts store, I have new brakes all around, calipers, rotors, e-brake cable, the hole shoot and match. What a pain in the but that was. I know that the Jeep is a 87 6cyl, I didn't know that the axles I bought used parts from an 87 4cyl. Unfortunately, I found this out the hard way. Everything I bought had to be returned.

I now know the Jeep it self is a 87 6cyl, the axles and brakes are from an 87 4cyl, and the motor is from a 89 6cyl. That could be a nightmare ordering parts if you didn't know that.

More in a bit.

This past weekend I was able to put in the gas tank, gas lines, and all new brake lines. I should have the motor and tranny in in a few weeks.

I guess I didn't take any with the brake lines and all in place. I'll get some up when it stops raining, in a few days...

No cutting corners here, I see. Great job! I love keeping tabs on these kinds of threads.

Well, I figured while it was out I might as well replace the rear mail seal. Guess what I found? Bad bearings...

The crank looks to be ok so thats always a good thing. I spun a rod bearing once in a pickup truck once and ruined the crank. Thats always a bad day.
