Got the chain all set, this one has the best adjustment range off all I have done to date. I also got my upper motor mount welded in place and painted. Engine is all located and ready for clutch and cover installation.

Hi Papa looks even better than factory and i know a lot stronger,i know your going to sell lots of conversions. You must have a lot more older Polaris quads in your area. There a lot harder to find here and in Cal. there like gold. You might consider offering rebuilt motor in your kit.Ghost

It is coming along. I will have the shifter done today and plan to start on the exhaust. Still have to do wiring. The hard stuff is done but as slow as I am it all takes time. Hope to hear it run in the next few days. I will still need to break the engine in. I have a bunch of pictures to post, I just keep forgetting to bring the camera in from the shop. It won't have all the changes done for the trip but will be running if nothing unexpected happens. Mama Rich will be riding her new buggy but that will be her surprise when we get there.

I originally was going to install the radiator this way. But the more I thought about it ( sometimes I over think things and that is what takes me so long) I didn't like the hoses right behind my head.
I also remount the E brake I never did like where it was. I was always forgetting it was set. With the 500 it didn't even know it was on so after smoking a set of brake pads I quit using it on the 500. So now it is where I can see it and it is much handier.

as far as radiator....I really like the offset placement on mine, I can see back thru between the seats when reversing......mines above passenger seat head area...that way ---->THEY<--- get showered with boiling liquid...NOT ME! if I overheat or sumthin' lol

The exhaust was built out the stock Scrambler pipe. All the bends were there I just had to move them. I was told the ideal pipe length was 30" for this engine. This one will end up being about 34".
Here are some shots of the radiator with most of the hoses ran and how I want them to end up. I also included my carb support bracket that I made.

Just a heads up on that oil tank. I did the same thing and all the oil drains into the crankcase after it sits for a bit. If you keep it there make sure you check your oil if its empty drain and refill. I plan on moving mine back down. I believe chuck had the same problem with his also.

Chris, there is a one way check valve that prevents that. On the ones that I have looked at were bad so suspect that is what was wrong with yours. It is the plug next to the two oil lines that go into the crank case from the oil filter housing.

Think im gonna stick mine on the right side of the engine. Really the only place that has room for it. I put it in the same spot as you thinking it would get some air and it looked good.

The last one I did I mounted it up because that is what the guy wanted and it seems to be working fine. I liked it not being in all the mud that my first 500 had seem to have all the time so I mounted this one that way also. I will just have to keep an eye to see how it works out.
I don't seem to have any issues with mine mounted high like papa's.
