Picked this up the other day and the motor was in a box and is probably incomplete. I plan on solving this puzzle this winter but need to order parts now. It says Raptor but no idea where to get a serial or what to do. Please help, you folks are. Good with this type.of thing.

it looks like a sahara. If possible post a picture of the engine, if it is a cn250. It will be a cake walk to get back together and running.

Ok here is the engine or what I have of it. Missing a few things and need new Valves. Is it a cn250?

Those parts appear to be a cn250.

What performance upgrades would you do at this point before I put it back together?

Also anyone have a spare variator for a 250? That is missing.

I'd have the head milled, ported & polished. Then have a custom cam. Tom Syc did mine for both of my buggies and I strongly recommend him. Syc Powersports.
You could get a Rattler exhaust and Dr. Pulley Hit clutch. Or a Malossi Delta clutch. Dr. Pulley slider weights are great too. Talk to JD at Gotbuggies.com for these. He can probably get you a new variator too.
I also would get a Malossi red torque/contra spring for the clutch. This seems to really wake up all of our CN250 buggies that ride in our group.
If you have a stock airbox, remove it and put a K&N air filter straight to the carb with a Outerwears cover. Some here prefer the UNI air filter or K&N precharger filter cover. I've had better luck with the K&N air filter as far as keeping dirt & dust out. If you use one of the air filter covers, I'll think you'll be fine with either.
Also change to a NGK Iridium spark plug. You will need to rejet the carburetor after modding.
Not a whole lot of performance parts for the CN250 compared to the GY6 150. But these are the ones you can still get. Tom is the only one I know that still does cams and there are no longer any big bore kits around. But the CN250 will still scoot with the mods above.
Since the engine is apart, I'd replace all the bearings, gaskets and seals. Also might as well rebuild the top end with a new jug, piston and rings. If the piston is good then just install new rings. If the jug/cylinder can be honed, I'd do that and use it. If not, replace with new. Check your timing chain to make sure it's good.

Yes, a CN 250. Save yourself the trouble and send your head to TOM and let him check it out. Also replace timing chain and tensioner and guides.
