I just purchased an 800cc GK-40 from Gokartsusa.com. Does anyone have any information on this buggy and Gokartsusa.com?It shipped on 06-11-07. My experience with Al at Gokartsusa.com was not good or bad yet. It took about a little of a week to ship from the warehouse. I am going to post pictures and video here and on youtube. I will show the assembly and testing of the GK-40. I will also provide a complete review of my experience with gokartsusa.com and the dune buggy. Does anyone own one of these and do you like it?
I live in the WV mountain region and will testing this in mud and on hill climbs. Are there any worries about getting the 800cc in the mud? I have seen some post about problems with the alternator and mud. Please Advise? Acira10...

I have not heard of anyone having that buggy yet...can't wait to see it in action Laughing

There are several of us on here that have the 800 cc buggy. Is yours carb or Fuel injected?

In ours, the axles are a weak point, do a search for fixes.(limit straps etc.)
Check to make sure the alternator does not come in contact with the axle..our body style had this problem, do not know if yours will.
Some came with tall gearing, lower gears are available if you have this problem.
Lots of modifications available for this motor depending on what you want.

Mud has not been a problem Twisted Evil
but I am jealous of your fenders Wink

Let me know if there is anything else I can answer for you...

Chris

Yes it is fuel injected. It is straight off the dock and i beleive it has the lower gears. I will not know for sure until it gets here. Thanks for the information.

It took an 1 1/2 hours to unload. it is a very heavy and hard to move the crate. Here are some pictures in the crate. I will provide some assembly pictures later this week. I did have one problem, it was shipped with a cassette player installed instead of the advertised CD player. I contacted Gokartsusa.com, and Al stated that most likely they would issue me a credit to buy one locally. I will let you know if he follows through. Here are the pics. [/img]

FYI - tryed to start engine and discovered gas tank was leaking around seal. Fuel pump was bad. Contacted gokartsusa.com and of course the old who's on first routine. He said he is checking with the factory for the replacement parts. Also the headlamps were dented, the oh crap handle was broken, and the right rear shock was seized. see attached pictures.
Here is the fuel pump for replacement, it is from a metro 89-01.

Overall the buggy is very well build, with my luck these type of things happen. I am not willing to wait on gokartsusa to ship parts from china. Which probably takes a couple months. I have alread contacted my credit card company and they will back charge any parts I purchase for repair. The engine does run by spraying fuel directly into the intake. It is very quiet and smooth. Confused I will keep you posted when the fuel pump get here. I was able to stop the gas tank leak for now by tighting the bolts. i am not sure it will hold.

That is a sweet looking buggy. I hope you get all the problems worked out. Let us know how the suzuki engine is for power.

Good luck

Did yours not come with all the body panels? Or didn't you put them on yet? Just curious. It looks like you'd have fairly decent mud protection with all of them on there.
