Hey Guys, Been a while since I posted. Been busy and the buggy has been great. Until that is, I took it to the local Mud Bogs, they had a big hill, with lots of obstacles, jumps, hills etc. The buggy tore it up, unfortunately I tore up the motor with dust. I had the weber carb with stock weber filter and a foam wrap. It still was'nt enough.
I found a K&N carb cover for Webers that has a fitting for a snorkel in which I will apply a dual stage filter, nice and high. Total cost; about $60.00
Oh well, I was looking for a reason to do the motor right anyways. It still runs fine, less a little H.P and burning a whole lot of oil.
I plan on shaving, porting and polishing the head.
Port and polish intake manifold.
Regrind cam.
Slight bore, new rings and pistons
Balance crank
I am looking for input on parts and ideas as to what to do and not to do.
I know Chris and Mick did cam regrinds and Crower Cams does them as well as 3tech, however all the lift and duration #'s are different. I do not want radical and short lived, just better and reliable.
Are pistons available? Same as Swift or GEO Motor?
Gasket Kits?
Has anyone gone with a killer ignition system? Such as the one SoCrates was gonna get.
The motor revved pretty high and never showed a sign of valve float, so I think the valve springs are good.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks, Steve

Dude,
sorry to hear about the motor.

I did not do a cam regrind, just doing the leg work through crower cams. He has not responded in a while.

Mick is the man, he has done all of the above. All I have done is the filter, exhaust and re-jet. I have the new tranny in the driveway, and am looking into a better skid plate for the tranny. Axles are still backordered, and being fabricated.

Good luck, keep us posted.

Chris
