Hello,

Does anyone have mods, for the Joyner 1100, out yet? I am looking for a header. I seems like everyones is going to have one but nobody does.

I am going to try and stay away from the Turbos. Has anyone tried other intake mobs?

How about a short throw shifter?

Has anyone upgraded the shocks? What did you use? I think a good set of shocks would go a long way.

Thanks,

I am interested in some of the upgrades you mention. Have not ruled out a turbo.

I did upgrade the tires to ITP 589's

28" gave me another inch of ground clearance and man do they bite now when I open the throttle.

I added a short clip to the video section of the 1100 in action.

I can't keep this under my hat anymore. I hope the guys at Unleashed Motorsports are OK with it. I call them to ask about possibly putting on a Turbo or getting a new header. After talking to them about what I wanted and how to work with my driving style they suggesested that all I really needed was a new header pipe. Well I wish I had dyno reports to show the difference but I can say I feel the difference. As they mentioned if you look at the stock pipe it is only adout a 1" diameter and with the O2 sensor sticking in it, it makes for about a 1/2" pipe. They suggested going to a 2" which is the same as the muffler. If I would have known the difference it would make I would have gone to a real bender and got fully mandred bend peices but I thought I would just give it a try some I just went the local shop and had them bend me 2 90's and a couple of bungs. We when cut of the flange on the stock pipe and flared it. I took it all home mocked it up on the buggy and welded it togeither. Total cost $30.

After finally getting a chance to go back to some sand and test it out it does all I wanted. I now have a useful third gear, before it would just die in the sand when shifting into thrid. It also seems to rev up faster and pull stronger on teh grin meter. This is all on pump gas. Best mod I have ever done for the price anyway.

Great mod. I was thinking the same thing with my 07 650 Joyner. I love the way the buggy runs, but I kept saying to myself, there's more power there but it can't seem to "blow" it out the exhaust. I'm glad it worked out.

Do we have the same exhaust system on our 1100,s?

My stock in 2" all the way back to the 4 into 1 header with sensors on each side of the catalyst.

I keep thinking turbo option but have had enough power even at the dunes so have put off installing one.

Here are some pictures.

Man that is sweat Crying or Very sad . That is the exhaust that is shown in the manual. If you do put a turbo I would like to buy that exhaust. Or if any one else has one of those let me know. I figured that was going to be the after market one they wear going to sell but I heard that has fallen through.

Must be nice!

Jim,
If you ever slow down enough, (LOL) I'd like to see some pics of the shifter mechanism Joyner uses to make it shift in the normal pattern....I'm trying to figure best way to convert my LJTech over....

Howdy

I believe I sent some pictures from the engine area.
The shifter up front is all covered with a box so can't see it without taking things apart.

Have you tried downloading parts breakdown from Thunder for the Joyner 1100? That might show something and you can order there shifter mechanism.
