lets try this a different way there are eighteen blades on my current paddles!
thinking of grinding off every other one....anybody have a comment on that idea?
Burningas - I would probably wait to mod your paddles until you decide if you are going to get a turbo. We had two sets of Scat Trak 26x12x12 9-paddle Extremes made before we got the turbos - they worked very well with the normally aspirated engine, but they're not quite enough to handle the turbocharged engine. I think I am going to go with a pair of Sand Tires Unlimited 26x12x12 16-paddle tires this spring. Jojano is using them on his turbo 800 and says they work great.

i believe they are "far east" as i sit at the computer...I am sure that is the baldies up front so that must be the rear as well...i did get them from a joyner dealer...they were not the typical paddles joyner considers stock though... I think that joyner produced a paddle for the "ryno" type vehicle that they have..I do not remember what it was but i do remember that it had some sort of continuous tread. Meaning that you did not have that paddle "bumpy type of a ride" if you were not on the sand. but that paddle looked quadish if you will.....not enough if you know what I mean. when are you going back to the sand dunes you ride at with the "finger" run that has you waiting to take a serious stab at? and what was the name of the area that is at? it just sounds like a challenge that need to be conquered by a turob-ized 1100 joyner that i want to see or at least see footage of!!!!!! when you take the beast down (which i am sure you will) please share the conquest with the rest of us sand worms!
I am sorry that i did not clarify on my first reply.....It is not weather or not i am going to apply a turbo... IT IS WHICH ONE i AM GOING TO GO WITH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more power= more fun...............really similar to the whole e=mc2 kinda equation! hand down though...once i get a turbo....I have already hitting up momma santa for the King shocks that west coast is sporting......those things simply look kick arse! a must have for the new and improved sand worm...which then and only then will be worthy of the sand Viper given name...until then i will keep playing the chess game up the hill...you know every move has to be a well thought out strategy to get to the to of the big ones. like i read before on this site..."straight up the dune...priceless!"

The original paddle tires that we got with the 1100's were Far East, but they only had 16 paddles. In short, they sucked. Very poor quality - mine started to disintegrate after about 15 hours hard sand use. We ran about 5psi in them - they might have lasted longer at 7-8psi, but they didn't do as good in the sand as the stock tires. I think I posted some photos in my past threads

As in most cases you get what you pay for. I had bought a complete set of "Far East" sand tires from a chinese dealer who sold the same tire to Thunder Inc. I paid $65 fronts and $75 for the rear. Was $200 incl. shipping. They lasted almost one outing. And I thought I got a good deal. I paid almost $200

I run the far east center rib up front with no problems ,and the itp dune star out back and I think the itp's work awesome in any type of sand. I also realy like the center rib for running thru the "usualy" paved parking around here, Even with the fully loaded buggy the paddles dont touch the hard surface.

after looking and counting. They are far east fronts have the dbl rib and the rears do have 16 paddles. Very unhappy to here all the bad news on their performance! Guess i had better start looking before they end a trip!
jaxn- covered in what? I think i saw some snow once in a picture as a kid! March huh? without doing any research for my self, How long of a drive is it from Las Vegas to your riding spot? I will be needing some where else to ride. my spot is in the middle of Death Valley after April it gets pretty hot..what do you do in the meantime? ever thought of coming this a way? maybe after New Years and CES (consumer electronic show) we will get a chance for more than a day trip in.
jaxn- Dude that place is huge....it is like 730% bigger than my little hang out....I would not have to do any thing to the joyner like I would have to do the re-jetting of the banshee would I? it looks like somewhere around a seven hr. drive...already thinking of a late april eary may trip.
