west coast- are you running racing fuel? i am sure you are...what is the octane content? did you have an inner cooler (i am new to the whole turbo thing something i heard) how many miles do you think you have put on since the turbo mod? I am really worried about blowing fecal matter up and having to re-build a motor...
Burningas - I haven't had a problem with any sand climb yet. There is one climb I haven't tried yet, though - the infamous "fingers" off the face of Sand Mountain in Utah. The pro guys I have talked to say that it is the steepest sand climb in North America - estimated at 65 - 75 degrees. I would hate to have to try to turn out half way up, so I'm going to wait until I have my intercooler with water misting kit installed before I try it.
If your running at more than 5psi boost, you should run racing fuel or a mixture of premium and racing fuel. My turbo is set at 10psi now. Also, change your spark plugs to Autolite AR3923 or equivalent - the stock Torch 7026 platinums don't work with a turbo.
You popped the 50 amp fuse? I would look for a short - I run 100 watt headlights, 4-55 watt spots and a high pressure fuel boost pump and have never had a fuse problem.
I don't know the difference in the 07 and 08 1100, but Trmn8r and I are going to the Arizona Sand Show on Dec 8th - we'll see what we can find out.
I haven't dyno tested my engine yet, but I will next spring.
WEST_COAST - I start salivating every time I see your 1100 with the King shocks - I want some (as soon as the money fairy lands on me.)
No ,our tests are done on premium pump gas 93 octain. They do run better on a mixture like JAXN said 50/50 . But I dont think advertising a dyno slip on race gas would be rite to do to the customer. Not everybody runs race gas or 50/50 so I would rather give bottom line hp and be honest with everybody.
We have messed with some intercooler's but havent found one that fit or preformed to our sadisfaction. Miles are probably in the thousand's range without any engine problem's. We have never blown a turboed 1100 up!!
JAXN , I have got a set on the shelf with your name on them maybe Santa will pick them up!! Hurry up with the dyno I also want to know how good yours is doing.

jaxn-thanks for the elect.advice...inner cooler with a misting system? sounds intense! please elaborate, I am not a wrench turner at all...I can duplicate it out of exotic wood though. Meaning i am a woodworker by trade. anyways i am looking for previous experimented sound advice,I only want to do this one time. All input is greatly apprieciated!
W.coast.....how long does it take to fill another order? and what kinda doe are we talking about? if I buy two sets will I get any kinda break from the elf union? On your 50/50 mix the race fuel is it 100 octane?
cant wait to climb a hill straight on!!! right now it is like playing chess getting around the dunes...every move has to be a strategic one or I am done!
w.coast...I just read the rules for this site and i guess you can not give me a price on the shock set up...I will have to ask my son how to find you in the cyber world since i am a better wrench turner than cyber geek....My computer kung-fu is WEAK!
I have early 07 and I had the problem with the lights. It didn't blow the fuse but destroied the wire that runs up in the dash and powers everthing. Left me dead in the water. I fixed it by adding and wire off of the battery to the switches on the dash and fused each group of lights independately. I haven't had any other issues since then.
I also had the issue in the sand that the only gear that worked was second. I finally got a new header which stock on the 07 1/2 and newer models that fixed my problem. Now thrid and forht both work in the sand. The good header is all chrome and has four 1" pipes running to the to the cat. Makes a huge diffence and on pump gas. That said one can never have enough power, turbo would be great!
Who is the guy here in NM that makes a supercharger? I would like ot run into him.
Good luck. _________________ Sure Beats Worken'

Burningas - When you compress air (as a turbo does), the air gets hot. A hot air charge into the engine is less dense and does not produce as much power as a cooler charge. An intercooler is similar to a radiator that takes the air from the output of the turbo and cools it before it goes into the engine. This is usually good for an additional 5-15% power boost.
The misting kit currently under design at Jaxn Performance Engineering (OK, in my garage) is a device that will spray a fine mist of distilled water into the cooling fins of the intercooler when the turbo boost exceeds 5psi. Nothing cools better than water evaporating. It should double the cooling effect of the intercooler. We'll see.
I had a similar system on a drag car I used to run years ago. I had a 12 volt electric motor running the water pump and fan so all the power of the engine would go to the rear wheels. My misting kit was a simple push button system fabricated from an electric windshield washer that would spray water onto the front of the radiator. I would usually go through the timing lights at about 200 degrees coolant temp, start squirting water on the radiator as I was slowing down, and be back to 100 degrees by the time I reached the ET shack. Worked great!
So your the one that caused me to hit the gaurd rail at the track, slicks don't do well in the water...
Just kidding, at that time I was watching safely from the stands. (Not old enough to drive yet) _________________ Joyner 1100 Viper
Unleashed Turbo Kit
had the hardest time logging on last couple of days...my computer kung fu is very weak......any ways
Jaxn- i just heard a cat in the office talking about some mist kit that squirted a little dash of a windshield wiper type of mix? He is one of those guys with a little car, big pipes, loud you know kind like fast and furious type...he said the manufactuer would give him a break if 4 or more orders were mad. something i was considering....my friend that has the other 1100 find a guy in town says he is expecting to get 120 to 125hp with turbo mod! he should be dropping it of next week some time....cant wait to see what the end result is...hey I read somewhere that you got some new paddles from scat...I believe you said there were nine blades to them? I was thinking of grinding off every other one of my paddles they currently have 1 blades and I am thinking they might be to aggressive and i wont dig in as much? comments anybody on that one?
gaspasser22- I believe it was rjs supercharger check it out.
