I bought from a dealer in El Paseo. The buggy was assembled and delivered directly to me from ThunderInc. I talked to the guys at ThunderInc while the buggy was being built it.

Well, My dealer came through with a new header. Ya those things look awsome sitting back there. I also put 20wt oil in the shocks. We had a chance to go to the dunes and mountains last weekend. The header works great! I don't plan on doing any thing else to give it more power as it works great Twisted Evil . But now that I think of it one can never have to much power. The oil didn't make any differnce I could tell Sad . Still would like to get some Sway-A-Ways for it. Some day can't get my self to drop another $2K on hte buggy.

Excellent your dealer came through. Could you tell a big difference in power?

I gutted the catalyst on mine and then added a spark arrester screen to the end of the muffler to be safe.
It allows the engine to wind up even a little better than before and it surprised me that it did not make it any more noisier.

I am very happy with the power even at the dunes but like you say you can never get enough. A turbo would make a rocket out of these Joyner 1100's.

I wouldn't be surprised if they used automotive oil in the shocks in the first place. I guess you could always try some synthetic 90wt gear oil; that should slow things down a little. Cool

Would you mind going over the process you went through to gut the cat out?
Thanks!

I am having a problem with my suspension, I am trying to soften it so I have backed it off 16 turns and I still can't tell the difference.
and it seems to be getting harder to turn as I loosen it??? (Yes I am turning it the right way)any advice?

Also the manual says to have the air shocks at .8 "MP"
What does this mean in psi? and if I lower the pressure will I get a softer ride? So what pressures are you guys running in your stock shocks?

Thanks for all the help!!!
Terrance

I just removed the cat and muffler, not the header, from the buggy and using any long object start chopping away until you break up the catalyst and it all falls out.

It does run better without it IMO but add a spark arrestor to the muffler if you ride in a fire prone area.

I had a screen from an old sport quad muffler that I cut to size. Just removed the end cap off the muffler and put in in between.

On the shocks I tried different oil and pressure settings and nothing made much difference. The stock air pressure is about 90lbs. Don't drop the air pressure to low or you will blow the seal.
There not the best of shocks and I found out soon that they needed limit straps installed.

Hey guys first let me say that the way to buy any buggy is to go to a local dealer!!!! That being said all the joyners for sale at auction come from thunder Inc, have been assembled, and come with factory warranty. This comes straight from joyner inc. So you may not get the customer service you would get from a dealer (something it sounds like most arnt getting anyway) but the buggy you buy is exactly the same as one bought of the Joyner showroom on Preist rd in tempe, AZ. Ya, adjusting the nut on hte spring will just change hte ride height. The only way to change the ride is though valving which and can't get to or changing the oil. I haven't tried gear oil yet. BUt ever thing else I have done hasn't made much if any change to the ride. I wish it had the setup the Joyner 2.0 has on it. Has anyone seen those thigs or are they just in their adds?

Jim what happened that you need limit straps? Blow a CV?
