Adding reverse to a homebuilt?

No real reason you can't use a snowmachine reverse chaincase with a non sled motor.

First of all...

I went two (2) years without reverse. I just put it on and it's a must. It cost me $300 but it looks to be worth it.

Don't take shortcuts with this. There have been many a project that once it's together due to bad engineering it never works. Then the thing sits around forever and is sold at a huge loss.

You've got your options, Mark laid those out for you. It was already said, but I'll repeat it again. Figure out what you want and then put it together from there. Speed, Torque, Long-Term. If you try to get it all you'll end up with nothing.

Also, shop around and be patient. You'll find the good deals this way and end up with a terrific buggy.
