I was just out with the kids doing some slow trail riding for a few hours. When the kids drove we did not go past half throttle. I would drive it harder when we switched drivers. Out of the sky blue while I was driving the buggie started spitting and sputtering and couldn't get any power. I checked the fuel lines and filter and seems like there are no clogs. I let the engine cool and started up again. Same problem. Any suggestions? Thanks, Billy

I would start by checking the coil wires- the connectors have a tendancy to come loose- also I would check all electrical connections.

Wiring looks good. Is it possible to have an airleak somewhere? It kind of feels almost like when you need to rejet, after doing the Uni or exhaust mods.

I just ran the buggie again and it is sputtering bad, anything above half throttle and sometimes when I first hit the gas. I am also getting some popping, which sounds like it is coming from the carb and the exhaust. I checked the exhaust bolts, everything is tight. I check the Uni- and connections to the carb and everything is tight there also. It's dark so I really cant tell if there are any cracks in the intake. I don't see any loose wiring either. This sucks. It was running great. Any ideas?

get some first start or carb cleaner. then with the motor running spray it around the carb and filter, and manifold. it soundt to me like you cracked your manifold and it is leaking air. pull your spark pulg it will tell you whats up.

When I pull the plug what should I see if the manifold is cracked? I pulled it earlier about 10 minutes after riding. The middle was pink and the outside on the threads were black.

the rubber intakes are bas about cracking around the bolt holes.
check around the bolts and see if there is a crack or if the rubber is coming loose from around the bolts

Royal purpal the bent piece also looked white or pinkish in color. It's hard to tell but there may be a thin crack on top of the manifold close to the carb. I'll have to take it off to get a better look. I'll also make sure the spark plug wire is getting all the way on to the spark plug. If the manifold is cracked is there a temporary quick fix I can do? I'm supposed to go riding next weekend and I'm not sure a new manifold will get to me by then.
