I purchased a Carter GTR about 3 weeks ago. I can say I agree for the most part on the review of the Carter GTR. This is the first cart I have ever owned so I can't compare it with any of the others. I can say the turning radius of 40 feet in the review is pretty accurate. I live in West Virginia and ride in a lot of fields and gas well and coal mine roads so this doesn't bother me much. Even riding on the ATV trails I have rarely had to back up to make a turn. The speedometer on mine didn't work either. The tach and odometer did work, although the tach reading is about 2 seconds behind the actual engine revolutions. It is nearly useless when driving because it is not visible to the driver. The steering wheel is also uncomfortable, as stated in the review. It does have a lot of power, although I have bogged it out on several hills while riding with a passenger, but we have some big hills around here. I have wound it out on a flat straight streach of road and I doubt I approached the 52 mph advertized. One thing I really like is the comfortable ride. I have run this thing wide open over rough cow fields and it rides like a Caddy. For a mid-life crisis kind of guy like me, this is important! I think my GTR is "fine as frogs hair"!

I would say that you can absolutely trust what you read on here. If someone is posting BS on the forums, you will soon be able to tell in the replies that you read. We are and open and free forum here, and we are here to help the end user find what is best for them.

Only thing I saw wrong was the state. Carter is in Alabama.
You are absolutely right I don't know how I made that typo. Alabama is the right state we will have to get that fixed. Thanks for the heads up. _________________ Randy

We really appreciate the review on the GTR 250 that Randy has for us all to read. We have a question about the Honda XR250 sprocket that Randy has said that R&D at Carter's said would work with the GTR 250. We ordered one for ours and it does not fit.......can you possibly tell us maybe what year XR250 you are talking about or better yet..... give us a company name and part number...that would be great !!!
Again we loved the review and agreed with alot of what was said.....yeah ....alot of improvements could be made..but so far we have really enjoyed our GTR.
I am looking into this and I will get back to you all on the specifics regarding the year. I too will want to get the sprocket and get taller tires. _________________ Randy
