I have been there twice. My brother lives in Prescott Valley, I went with him and a bunch of his friends with quads, I didn't have my buggy at the time. We rode from just outside Prescott up to Crown King for lunch and some gas then rode back down. The next trip was with some friends when I lived in Yuma. We camped in Crown King and rode the trails for a couple days. We got funny looks considering we all had sport quads, everyone kept telling us that we needed 4x4 to get around, we didn't, we just used the HP. I don't have any pics here, and I couldn't see the pics. I know it's a great place to ride, it's nice and cool in the summer. I will go again with my son and buggy. If I don't make it back in time for Paddy's maybe another trip to Crown King will be in order. _________________ Hammerhead 150 (180 big bore) Extreme Sport

Hey thanks guys. Jeff, how is the road to Prescott? I was looking at it on the map and was thinking of maybe taking it all the way there. I don't think I would want to put a buggy on the road from Lake Pleasant to Crown King. There are a couple places it might not make it through. _________________

If I remember correctly, the road from Prescott goes through a historic section of town. Almost every house had a placard saying how old it was.
Past theses houses there was room to pull off the road (asphalt) and park. Then you ride the asphalt road some miles and it turns to dirt. Eventually it ends up mostly being single lane. I think that around Crown King the lanes widen up a bit.
When we camped at Crown King we found the trail that goes to Lake Pleasant. We were going to check out the lake but halfway there ran into a bunch of other people that said there was a lot of rangers. We would have needed to get some gas for the trip back. With all the rangers we couldn't get to the boat dock with the gas station. We decided to turn around and didn't try again. It was getting interesting for us with sport quads. Lots of steep rocky narrow trails. A buggy could not make these type of trails. I don't know if this is the road you are talking about. There are definatly lots of trails buggies could get around on up there. _________________ Hammerhead 150 (180 big bore) Extreme Sport

Hey, I'm going to be in Arizona in May on a business trip. The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) is having their annual Continuous Emissions Monitoring meeting there. I'm an environmental engineer and my company will have a booth at the conference.
Having said all that, there's a chance that we'll be taking some equipment out there. If we do there may be room for one of my buggies. I'd love to get out on that trail.
The more I think about it.. Is there a place to rent any kind of buggy out there?
I think I may have some clients that would love to do the buggy trail thing. Plus, I could write off the cost to marketing.
Thanks,
