For all of you trail buggy types I was able to make the buggy 10 inches more narrow by changing the rims to 14 inch positive offset factory Chevy wheels. It is not the prettiest but it is now a narrow 54 inches wide front and back!! I can still change back to a wider stance if I want but need to locate a set of rims that are 5/100 bolt pattern for the rear of the kart. I took off the welded on hub adapters for the 4 on 4 bolt pattern because I was afraid I would rip them off.
54 inch width
500cc V-4 75HP 32FT lbs torque
about 700lbs
Here are some pictures of the buggy with the 54 inch wide stance. I used 1995 Ford escort station wagon rims and wheels for the front they are 4/100 bolt pattern and measure 185/75-14 and I used 1995 Chevy cavalier rims on the back they are 5/100 bolt pattern and measure 185/75-14. The idea was to get a set of steel wheels to see if they would work on the kart. Now that I know they fit I am going to try and get a set of nice aluminum rims that look the same for those vehicles. I want to buy a set of tires from Roketa since they use a 185/60-14 and 195/60-14 on their GK-06. I can not locate these tires anywhere else. If anyone knows of a place please let me know.

i got a jig to redrill a 4/4 wheel to 5/100, as long as it is flat....I know you can buy 12" douglas wheels 4/4, but they are like 75.00 bux each, if you could use 10" for the wider stance i would sell them wheels and tires i have cheap.....or as cheap as two new wheels..... _________________ Desert Trail And Sand Fabricators
Bug I have been looking all over for those douglas aluminum 12 inch rims can you post a link to those. I need the red label. I would rather have those. I want to keep the height to a minimum. I want to stay stable at speeds. So 27" tires are not going to work for this buggy!! _________________ Randy
