I change the oil in our quads after every other ride (about 10 hrs). My friends do about the same. Just cheap insurance. My owners manual says every 100hrs for the record but that seems like a really long time.
Using a good quality synthetic oil, it will probably outlast the engine.
Mobil 1 is a decent oil. I wouldnt use anything lighter than their V-Twin 20/50 though.
Mini buggies arent quads, and even if they were comparable there would be no reason to change oil after every ride unless they were getting totally submerged in water every ride. Changing your oil constantly wont hurt the engine, but its not good for the enviroment, and is a sensless waste of resources.
Using good oil is the best thing you can do for your engine. No matter what engine it is or what it is in.
Are you realy suposed to change the engine oil every 10 hours. because I find changing the oil a big pain in the butt
I use a synthetic mobile 1 for the record.
How long can i safely go without changing the oil.
10hrs just seems to soon.
Well look at it this way, would you rather change your oil or rebuild the engine do to lack of oil changes. Changing it every 10 hours might be overkill but it definately doesn't hurt anything and it is cheap insurance.

I changed the oil in my HH250 after about 10 hours, as I split the case to check some bolts, and the oil looked as good as it did when I initially put it in, and I am also using Mobile 1. That is way overkill to change it every 10 hours. I would say maybe every 60 hours, but I am going to just do a visual on the oil to see how it looks and when it looks dirty, change it then. _________________ Dan Alustiza

I have always changed my oil around 10 hrs on any off road vehicle. Must be an AZ thing as most ppl I know change at that interval around here. Dirt bikes, quads, buggies etc. _________________

I change the oil in my quads once a year. One has a oil filter and the other doesn't but the oil comes out super clean. Key is to keep the air filters clean and oil'd properly. I check level every time I ride, so far no problems.
My GY6 buggy has an external aftermarket filter and cooler. I'm trying to do the same with it, once a year. I use Suzuki 10w-40 4-stroke oil in the buggy.

What quads do you have and how often do you ride them?
I have a Suzuki Ozark 250 and a Yamaha Breeze. Normally I try to go camping/riding once a month. I'd say I ride between 75 and 100 miles each outing. I was really surprised with the Yamaha Breeze, couldn't believe how clean the oil is after all the riding my daughter does. It has a uni-filter on it.
Thats really not that much less then I ride. I put about 50 miles per ride once a week. My oil doesnt look new when I dump it though. Maybe its all the sand?
