I know some of you broke your buggies, engines, wheels not how there supposed to be
*cough tom cough* and things like that. Just curious, whats the final damage!

As most may know, i walked away with a broken axle guard and would of been fine if it wasnt for that Shocked in log! and i burned my hand getting a rock that oddly went right into my throttle arm between the gast tank and the block.(will see when i post vid.) And now that i drove it at the safety of my own home, i heard something rattling like crazy! and my top light and LED doesnt work, after all that work of sottering, and covering it with the wire rap, it craps out on me! Crying or Very sad

So how about you, whats the final damage report!

Brian did I read somewhere that your 800 had a break down? I was curious how your 800 held up. What if anything broke at the rally?

Brian,
THAT'S how the Rocketa was meant to look......DIRTY!!!
Even if you wash it right away, you have to have pics of it with dirt on it!

I'm ordering both front support struts and spindles for my Twister today!
The nut came off the psgr side at the rally but I had noticed a harder banging a couple weeks prior but couldn't tell what was causing it. After taking it apart yesterday, I noticed that there was alot of play in the strut. I checked it against the other side it it was the same! Normally, that is a good thing but upon closer inspection, they're the same because they're both about to blow!!!! Shocked
The threads on both strut nuts are worn smooth!!! I'm not surprised.
Looks like about $125 in parts (I'm just going to replace both struts and I'll have spares!) and I should be able to replace them both in an afternoon so not too bad.
I also put my front shocks up to the stiffist setting and it made a BIG difference! I had it set in the middle when I got it, then I put them up the the stiffist but it bounced alot, then I put it back to the middle and stuck with that until after the rally. After seeing the shock mods there, I decided to put them back to the stiffest and try it again. It doesn't bang nearly as much now and once I replace those struts, I think my problem will be solved.
These karts tend to "push" thru corners and THAT is my next engineering project! Anyone address this yet?

Tom, your Buggy definitely gets rode hard & put away wet.......Well I just broke both Tie Rod Strut Bracket's Sunday, one on left cracked & on right ripped open an 1/8 inch.(steered to the right). Probably alot of that was from the Rally and just was ready to snap.(very weak link on the Buggies). They're both in my car now & will stop at the welder at noon today. My way of talking to him wil be, I never want these ever to to break again(period) can you do this??. They were very easy to take off, and you might want to look into reinforcing your new struts before your install, surely might take a headache away for later. Below is how one guy did his reinforcing, but at the Rally Fireman1 "Ray" showed me his mod and he definitely stepped it up a notch with his fab mod to these brackets(his should never break).

My damage report is as follows:

1. Blown rear tire. I think I was driving too slow!! HA HA HA
2. leaking trans seal ( may have been leaking befor ethe rally)
3. Clutch bell from slipping with trans grease leaking on it.
4. Broken reverse cable housing. ( not the first one I broke)

I ordered a cross drilled clutch bell for more heat disipation and am waiting for it to come. I will order a tire and cable later this month.

I would break it all again to ride with you guys again.

Randy, yea my buggy got damaged but it wasn't a break down. Me and DJFriz were out ripping around in it and I ended up casing a rock big time, thus it pushed the frame tube that runs under the trannsmission into my shift linkage cuasing me to be stuck it gear. All I had to do was cutt the tube off. But to prevent this from happening again I'm stiffining up the preload on the rear struts and fabbing a skid plate up to replace the bent tube.

major carnarge here. both front wheels bent beyond salvage. two bent a-arms, cracked frame at a-arm mounting points, 3 trashed ball joints and a seized motor. looks like a total front end rebuild. On the good side, the new rear axle and hubs worked excelent and I have an excuse to build another motor Anybody else ready to do it again? Very Happy
