i have i high flow exaust and a stock muffler but i had to install a larger battery for all my electronics. with the taller battery my tuned exaust pipe hits the battery when i hit a bump. my stock exaust pipe fits without hitting the battery but i need to keep the free flowing exaust to go with my intake and rejetted carb. has anyone ever drilled the stock exaust pipe or the muffler to let it flow better?? or any other ideas that might help on my blade dx150

Anything can be done. I just did mine on my HH250

Basic steps are open the old muffler

Cut off old spark arester

Make up a new one with bigger holes, It takes 8 - 1/2" Dia. holes to equal the same volume of a 1 1/2" dia tube my new arester has 28 - 1/2" holes drilled in it.

Weld the arester back in place and then cut out the baffle on the inside of the muffler. Bolt it all together and your back in business

I'll try to get some pictures up when I can

how about cutting the stock exaust pipe at the muffler and welding on the free flow muffler on to it or is the stock pipe too small to let the exaust flow free enough??

Why not re-locate your battery? I know that the battery on '05 Twister 150's has to be moved for the eastside pipe to fit properly.

your exhaust pipe should be real close to the dia of the port coming out of the head. unless your going to do some machining your stuck with that size hole so you will not gain much by changing the size of the pipe. The reason i moded my old exhaust was i already had it and did want want ot spend the untill i knew want kind of proformance i would get. You have already spent the money on the high flow muffler. So i Say get out the saw and welder and go to town
