We have all three, 70cc honda motorcycle for my daughter14yrs old. 50cc suzuki atv for my son 7yr old. 330cc atv for me and 800cc buggy for me...uh I meant my wife.
WIth all of the safty features and equiptment my children wear, I feel they are safer than riding a bike on the street with the cars. My son has flipped the atv without even a scratch or a bump.

I know this is a late reply to your post, but I have to put my two cents in. I want to say I am sorry for being a hard A@% before I start my rant. WHO IS THE ADULT HERE? You said you need to talk him into a buggy rather than a ATV. He only knows what he wants not what is best for him. I am a firefighter/ EMT in Nashville and I have responded to two DEATHS in the last five years. One was a pre teen who head was cut off except for the spinal cord. the other was a teen who chest was crushed by ATV.I know that it is possable to be killed in a buggy but both of these would have lived if they had been in a buggy.[/b]

I have to agree. I have seen two really bad atv accidents in atvs. One the kid will never walk again and the other the girl had to be carried away in a helicopter. In both they would have been laughing and playing after in a cart. I do own atvs and bikes as well and the right saftey equioment helps. But there is no question that the buggies are MUCH safer. My daughter got tossed off an atv not going very fast and got some serious road rash but no permanent damage but she will not even get on an atv now but loves to tear it up in the 250, Which she has rolled completly over. _________________ 2005 Joyner 650 Turbo

In my humble opinion, having been a builder and racer of buggies for the last 20 years...I would say put the kids in a buggy with a good harness and a hemet...I have tangled with cars, trees, a deer, and fences...only damage was to me ego...
