i have a blade dx150 with free flow exaust and intake and a rejetted carb. all of a sudden it started running very rough. i cleaned my fuel tank and installed a new jet but it still barely runs and very hard to start. not sure what to check next. any ideas all??
Start by checking your fuel filter, even replace it. Does it feel like it is starving for fuel? How long did you run it with the modifications before it started running rough? _________________ I don't kill anything I don't get paid to.
250cc Sahara short frame
UNI and 130 jet
250cc Sahara long frame
Adjust the valves? sorry ric, that just seems a little drastic.
Start with some simple things:
Is there gas in the tank? - just kidding.
I would guess it is a fuel problem since you have been tinkering in that area.
Check the plug - if you over-jetted it could be fouled.
You may need to flush and clean the carb. When you re-jet, it is easy to get some loose dirt in the wrong places and it could be starving for fuel.

No it's not drastic at all. The Kinroad/Blade 150cc engines have a tendency to have "sinking" valves after just a few weeks, the valve clearance can get too tight. Over 50% of the ones I sell need to have the valves adjusted within a few weeks time. First they get hard to start, have erratic idling, and are low on power. Valve adjust cures it.
yea ive completly gone through all the fuel supply so im pretty sure i have a valve problem but is there a url or any help on how to adjust the valves???

Trust me.....I've worked on a ton of those Kinroad/Blade 150 engines.
They usually require one valve adjust after break-in, then they work great.
If you've never adjusted the valves since you've had it, then it couldn't hurt to do it anyway. Valve adjustment is critical on these.
Click on the below link and save as.......
It's the Yerf manual, but the procedure is exact for the Blade 150
Look at pages 17-18
I also suggest buying a 9mm box end wrench

Adjust the intake to a loose .003" and the exhaust to a loose .004"
