Im sorry i cant verify the type of differential, as i did not receive any of the printed materials on the machine. But, my mechanic has told me the machine is equipped with a limited slip type differential. he called it a one wheel wonder type of dune buggy. he said there is nothing wrong with this type of set up as the rear wheel have to allow the steering brakes to work as they intended.
i will find out more information or maybe someone from stinger will see this thread and respond with the technical side of the differential. _________________ Rey De Leon, MBA

good luck..I tried to find out this same question on my 800cc and was buried in technical jargon.
As best as I could figure, it was some kind of limited slip. That being said...I broke my axles before I ever got one wheel to spin while the other just sat there It always spun both tires equally, and always grabbed with both tires. If it looks like posi, and acts like Posi... that all that matters you can call it what ever you want.

I know from experience that this machine allows the other wheel to spin as i got it stuck in deep sand (did not have sand tires) and the right wheel spun and dug me in further while the left wheel did spin some. as i worked the buggy loose both wheels began to grab equally.
the rear end is for real it does allow the wheels to slip so the steering brakes can do their thing. _________________ Rey De Leon, MBA

wow... glad i found out about the non adjustable seat before i plunked down the cash for 2 of em. i'm 5'4 and doubt i could reach the pedals comfortably... definately something that needs to be addressed in an 8k buggy IMO.
all i said, was, that "mine" didnt adjust. that's not to say "all" are that way. i just dont know. however, i am 5'6". short legs. wife is 5'4". it's more comfortable to me than having my legs bunched up and up against the cage. you have some free movement area. this isnt a kids karts. dont mistake that it is. i wouldnt let a kid drive this. but a set of rails for adjusting would not be much to install. i like mine the way that it is.
randy, if you want a buggy that can accept a bike engine, why buy the whole buggy. build your own frame. right? i wouldnt pay 8k for something just to totally redo.
I have built several custom frames and complete buggies I just like to see options. I am getting to the point where I already did the build thing and if there is a great machine out there than I would buy it provided it has what I want. There is always a market for expensive buggies if they are quality and have the options that everyone wants!
I actually was saying that it would be nice to see an option for a motorcycle engine already installed. The engine itself is an option but installed.
You know comes stock with a Kohler V-twin 27HP and has an option of upgrading to a inline GSXR600 engine installed at the factory. _________________ Randy
