I was wondering if anyone knows if this go kart is good for hills, because i bought the carter bros 150cc and it was terrible on the hills so if you have any info please help me out.

With mods , the 150s do well with hills. I can tell you that.

Read about the engine upgrades and cvt roller changes.

That 404cc manco has a 3 year warranty suburu industrial engine with plenty of torque but it is merely a go kart. Suspension will break your back and forget high rpms. Unless they have changed it up in the last 2 years since I played with one. I think they are single speed as well?

The 404 is a bullet proof engine though.

These 150ccs are another bird completely with much more options.

The mancos as well as any of the GOKARTS out there do not have superior suspension when compared to the Chinese karts Surprised

The Mancos above all have the most rigid rear suspension I have ever experienced. I like the frame on the mancos they are very well built there is no arguement there! The front suspension has some potential. The industrial engines are very strong and have pretty decent longevity. As far as the single speed that is not acurate. It has the exact same system as all of these chinese karts except the chinese karts have them in a nice case. CVTs are the same thing as a Torque converter they work the same way. So they are absolutely constantly variable transmissions (multi speed, multi gear) Wink

I am sure that Manco does real well Ryan I think the gokarts are great but they just can't really compare to the newer buggies out there. I have owned non suspension karts to the crappy yerfdog 3203's, carters 29 series karts, TJ powersports, custom made buggies and all the way up to the new 800cc kart I have now. I can tell you that they get better every time. Once you get a newer buggy you will see the light. Oh yea lets not forget my GTR on order I hope that suspension is a real awakening!

A long time ago in a place called Arizona, a man named Heath was on his way to Eastsidems but instead stopped at a Manco dealer. He bought the 404cc beast. In one week he bottomed the thing out enough that the only thing left working was the engine and I never even ramped it!

Seriously, the thing about broke my back every time I got close to ramping it with the shocks as stiff as they would go. The frame broke in a week. I could never get it over 25 mph unmodded. I bought it because the sales guy really had me on the three year engine warranty.

I took the thing back and went and bought an xterro even though I wanted the eastside twister HH. The xterro is probably mid level on the 150's in quality but I have ramped the crap out of it and it was a complete 180 in feel and went over 30 stock.

I have, of course, broke my xterro's spindles several times and have now blown a piston. But it's lasted 2 years of intense abuse so far. Imagine what a better made Blade or HH might do.

I don't wish to insult, but relay experience. I would never give my opinion on a buggy without trying it out. Just wanted you to know I wasn't speaking off the cuff because I just read something off the internet about the 404cc.

BTW, I asked this very same question long ago in the original ATV forums so its not like I'm a manco expert. I would also like to add, the manco was much cheaper and if I didn't weigh 240lbs and live in AZ where boulders are everywhere, the manco may have survived to this day. Razz

Thats awesome. I wouldn't fit in your kart. The 404c was a double seater but really only a single seater for me. Maybe your more compact buggy frame makes it stronger since the welds would have less torque as the members are shorter when jumped.

Another thing to think about is the seats. The kinroad etc racing style seats also make a big comfort difference.

Its whatever works for whomevers buying. I thought the Baja 150 looked cheap in person but I have never test drove one and it has great reviews here.

my manco is jumped alot and its still in 1 solid state. mabey it was defective. although the mechanical shocks, arent manco brand, there generic! there sold allover the internet and carter, kenbar and other companies use them as well![/quote]
