About 560 miles round trip. Wasn't a bad drive at all. On the way there I went through Effingham IL but on the way back I took a more direct route straight north to Indy that turned out to be shorter. Glad I went the wrong way on 24. I was supposed to go West and I went East instead. Guess it was a sign to not go through IL again. That State Trooper was probably waiting on the border for me to cross over again at 85 mph. Laughing

If you had went through Henderson and Evansville, I bet it would have even saved you more time. Evansville is only about an hour and 10 minutes away from Marion.

I thought about continuing north on 41 through Evansville but I heard north of Evansville there are a lot of small towns and stop lights. I decided to hop on Western Kentucky Parkway to 65.

You're probably right, I've never been north of Evansville. We go up there a couple of times a month to shop, but that's as far north in Indiana as I have gone. I've always wanted to go to Indianapolis and see the Colts play, Star Wars Celebration III was up there last year. The inner geek in me would have liked to have attended that since it was right before the last film.

I believe the youth group at my church is going to Paoli Peeks next year to snow ski and snow board. It's a bit north of Evansville, you ever been there?

Average MPG...about 10 or a little less. The mountains in West Virginia killed me.

Man Steve..
You did not travel the furthest out of everyone, but you sure did FOOT the bill for gas. What did you end up payiong in gas for that Titan.

Thanks,
Nick Schycker

I didn't even bother keeping track. I knew if I did so it would kill my mood. hah What I did do is watch miles vs gallons at each stop so I knew how much I was blowing through in general. If you want the torque you have to pay. Smile I fully intend to get some sort of RV trailer since the titan has all sorts of pulling ability. Either that or a really big boat. Wink

Never been to Paoli Peaks but have heard it is pretty good. You should come up sometime for the Indy 500. Everyone needs to go at least once in a lifetime. It is an amazing experience. I do not attend the race anymore but I do frequently go to practice and time trials. I have some connections that get me garage passes and pit passes every year.

That sounds awesome! I may have to take you up on it sometime.

Thanks!

5,000 miles round trip! For mileage, am I the winner?
Back in California after a cross-country adventure to Kentucky for the rally at Paddy's Bluff. However, we, Tristan and I, took the scenic route:

The trip back included a visit to an ancestral cemetary in Kansas, sand storm in Utah, cliff dwellers, Arches National Monument, the Grand Canyon, and the Mojave Desert. Dancer gave us some great rides and some breakdowns as well. (We all know why they call them "buggies" don't we?)

Without the side trips, mapquest estimated 4,400 miles round trip.
