Stinger cart Day 1- Install tires, battery, wheels, tie-rods add gas and oil.(new units dont come with oil like the gy engines do). The first dirve was somewhat dissapointing. the cart was powerfull yet slow. "There must be a governor!" we started with what we thought would do it however it didn't make much difference. After toying with it for 10 min, we called Glenn at Stinger. He was very helpful and told us we need to adjust the throttle. they come with very little movement from the factory. Also the stock air filter is a 2 stage type. He told us to remove one of the stages to let more air flow. It has an inner very tight weave filter and a outer paper filter that looks like the one in your car. We removed the inner filter and adjusted the throttle. Now we have some GRIN FACTOR
The cart is different from the other mini buggys with the GY engines. Those engines have to rev to build power then engage the drive belt. The kohler 27hp engine has power right off of the idle. Once the belt engages(and it's a thick 2" belt) you feel like the cart can climb anything. We instantly saw that a new intake and header would be in the near future. It looks like they took my mower engine out and stuck it in the cart. It needs a tuned pipe and stack to give it the "I'm fast" look. the 5 point seatbelt is a 3" SIMPSON racing belt and takes a minute to figure out. Once you close the roll cage you feel very secure. All the controls are right where they need to be and comfortable. the 2 brake pedals are great. I wish all of the carts had them. REAL steering brakes. they will take a little getting used to but once you figure them out you can turn very quickly and you can powerslide like never before. They do not have any front brakes however they seem to stop you very quickly with only the rear brakes. On a few short test runs behind the shop on a paved road we averaged about 52mph in about an 8th mile. It seemed like it had more but it need more room. After dark I had to try out the lights on this cart. WOW. They are bright. and they are housed in metal (yes real metal) housings. So the first day is looking good, i thought I may need to order rear brakes soon after playing so much with them. a spare belt may be a good thing to have also.
2 possible drawbacks we found with these carts:
1. the belt is exposed to any mud or water which may cause slipping and premature wear. Mudbogging in this cart probably isn't a good idea. Maybe we'll find out at Paddys Bluff.??
2. Price. $8500 is MSRP but I will say that it's worth it. I don't think you will classify this cart as high maintenance. or cheap "PAY ME NOW or PAY ME LATER"
I hope this helps

Awesome Review....
We are looking into becoming the Central United States Distributor as well as a dealer. It is awesome to hear feedback from a customer that has bought one.. Glenn (owner) and Joe (Partner) are bringing us some buggies to try out here in the next few weeks before we officialy sign the agreement, but I look forward to moving thier product around. It seems to be an AWESOME product that will hold up for years and years to come. Get some video and pics posted so others can see these beasts.
Thanks,
Nick Schycker
