Can we get a Land/Use section. Yesterday I went out 4x4ing to my usual spot (also the place that I have the pictures in my gallery), to find out someone is going to start actively mining there . It's also coincidental that there are 3 new huge developments going in within 25 miles, and the city of Buckeye either has or is annexing the area for 300K more homes . WE ARE LOSING PLACES TO PLAY ! Can we get a section to bring attention to things coming up that we need to get involved in to preserve our playgrounds? Sorry, end of rant _________________ I don't kill anything I don't get paid to.

Welcome to our world in California. We can't do much about developments taking over our land but we can fight the eco terrorists and greenies who want to close OUR public to everyone.
If you think you have it bad, they're trying to pass a law in San Bernandino county that makes it illegal for a land owner to ride ATV/motorcycles on his own property. How crazy is that!!!! I don't think it will pass.
Here's another crazy one. We have the green sticker program here in California which is suppose to pay for trail maintenance and OHV areas. A state government audit showed that the green sticker committee was headed by environmentalists that were taking the money for other uses. Their using our money to shut down trails. Go figure. Thankfully CORVA found out and is actively pursuing action to prevent this from continuing.
I urge all of you to join organizations that promote equall access land use for all Americans. In my case it's CORVA (www.corva.net).
Hay Phill, what is their reasoning for not wanting you to ride on your own land? _________________ Custom Buggy http://www.buggynews.com/topic13417.html

I really feel for you guys out west!
Green stickers have to suck!!
Of course, you could move out here to the north east,
no sticker problems but you'd then have to deal with the ice and snow!
I will stop by that web site and put MY 2 cents in for you guys!
I agree, we have to band together to keep our riding areas.
Quad owners haven't been able to change peoples minds, maybe buggies can!
I'm talking to my dealer about opening a buggy track in MD. He bought some land to use to help promote "Safe, Family, Fun! No quads allowed only buggies! We're hoping to get the "buggy craze" started in the tri-state area and get more families out there. That's the key....Families.
Get mom and dad involved and you might start to see some changes!

Hey Bugspray That is bad news, and even effects me here in Texas. I haul heavy equipment to California quite abit and bought my buggy to take with me to play in your deserts... There is a Truckstop at exit 104 in Tonapah, and I have seen quads etc. in the river bottom near there. I had planned on bringing my buggy next trip. It is difficult to park a 70 foot long 18 wheel toyhauler in some places. I have aalso spotted some places near Quartzside.
What's happening is the 1% of bad OHVers are riding on private property when they shouldn't. So a group got together to ban all riding on private property. Luckily Jeremy McGrath (motocross fame) lives in the county. He filed a lawsuit against it. Not sure what the current status is.
I moved from the midwest to get away from the snow and humidity so here is where I stay for now.
What's funny is now I'm more aware of other riders and how they are treating the land and surroundings. All it takes is one dumb*** to ruin it for all of use. The greenies out here will actually stake an area out to take pictures of us bad people riding over a weed so they can show the goverment. It's ridiculous.

All that damn dessert out there and these people have to complain. Gone are the days when people minded there own business, and left well enough alone. Now they see someone enjoying life and they get jeolous and have to ruin it, because they are not happy!!!
Greenies not only want to remove OHVer's from the land but all people from public access. Humans are the biggest threat to the wilderness in their eyes.
