2005 Twister 150

Rear right = 165 lbs.
Rear left = 158 lbs.
Front right = 114.2 lbs.
Front left = 123.8 lbs.
Total weight = 561 lbs.

2006 Blade 250XT

Rear right = 163.8 lbs.
Rear left = 287.4 lbs.
Front right = 183.0 lbs.
Front left = 112.4 lbs.
Total weight = 746.6 lbs.

I used 4 digital bathroom scales.....one under each wheel. Do not ask me why the weights are so unevenly distributed on the 250. Anyway, the 150 is not as light as I thought it was. Hopefully someone else can perform the same test on theirs so we can see how accurate this is.

Is it that straight forward though? I've seen them do that with cars, but I thought there would be a margain for error, both figures look a little high to me.

I did pretty well in physics class in college :D :D and I think that the 4 scales thing can't be wrong. In fact 2 scales to do the front, then the back would be fine too. I don't think lifting the front or rear of the buggy 1.5" at a time would greatly affect the results since it is just vertically pivoting a very small amount. 1 scale would be affected by the twisting effect of the buggy. Digital and mechanical scales need to have the weight centered and that must have been a little hard, Blister. Love all the info you've been providing on your buggies. How's the gearing going? Now if I just had 2 scales...

(did I mention that was "Burger College???)

True... 2 scales should work within a very small margin of error.

These figures are very close, I believe. The KPX Xterro and Joyner 250 Sand Devil have been weighed in this manner. Xterro figures were close to that... even a little heavier and it's basically the same buggy.

Thanks for the post John, Your 2005 Twister is 561lbs. When I tried to weigh my 2004 Talon with the 'One scale three board method' I came up with 577lbs for mine. Your numbers give more credibility to what I was able to recorded for mine. I think my brushed steel rims and bigger, wider tires may be adding a lb or two to my buggy. :)

Looks like my moded DLX weighs 16lbs more than your 05 Twister.

2004 Carter Talon DLX150IIR
Right Rear: -- 152 lbs
Left Rear: ---- 164 lbs
Right Front:-- 162 lbs
Left Front: ---- 97 lbs
** Totals---- 577 lbs

the weight would be unevenly distrubuited because of how things are laid out on that side, right? thats why your getting RR 165 and RL 158. that would be my only guess why there alittle uneven. but why is the FR 183 and the FL 112 on the blade, is there something on the FL that is changing it, something big?

It doesn't make sense to me either Ryan, if anything the F/L should be heavier as that is the side the steering column and pedal box is on...

You would think huh? It doesn't make any sense. I measured once and twice and three times because of my disbelief and that is still what I came up with. You really would think that the drivers side would be heavier. That is why I said, don't ask me why.
