Boy, talk about a bump? The previous post before yours was back in 2005.

Do a search here at BuggyNews for SpannerWrench. You'll see the wrench that Hopster needed.

Here's a link to the post. Read the original post and the replys. It should help you.

What was that tool you used to remove the starting driven gear? And how do i get the big gear of here and i guess its called a spanner wrench. Where and how do i get that.

Also a screwdriver and a hammer works well. Remember the threads are reversed on that spanner nut.

Hey thanks the link helped alot but i still have two questions.

1. How do you hold the thing down (starter clutch gear) because when i try to hammer the thing or if i do the socket way it still moves the crank?

2. On the other side of the crankcase the side were the CVT belt is there is a small gear that is behind the Variator Cooling Plate and the rollers. It shows no way of getting it off yet it has to to get the crank out and separate the two cases.

By the way my chain adjuster hole on the engine chipped off. Sad

thanks brad

That is gear for the kick starter that you don't have. It is held by friction and should pop off the shaft with very little force.

Can you clamp the other side of the crank between two pieces of wood in a vice to hold it?

The easiest way to get it off is with a gear puller, but a screwdriver applied evenly on opposite sides should pop it off the bevel.
