500 cc Suzuki sled engine 50 HP. Custom pipe (chopped up kx 500 mx bike) Electric start (had to remove pull starter so it would fit in frame) Fuel tank mounted conventional kart style (no where else to put it)
You know i struggled with the same question. There really is no good place to put it. I could have mounted it at the rear end of the buggy .Which i would mounted it up much to high. Then i see all the racing Karts with the tank mounted in the floor. I have pictures posted where would you mount it?
The one I have on my Yerf-Dog is hanging off to the side of the swing-arm. It works great. It got rolled over on that side and still stood up well. I'd put it on the rear of the buggy oposite side of the muffler.
If you have the engine cover, you need to put that back on. If not, the air flow your fan puts out doesnt go to where its intended and your engine will over heat in warm weather. Believe me, i have the same engine (1977-1979 Pantera, panther, el tigre 500cc) in my dune. My engine puts out 58hp ( some porting, new pistons, aftermarket exhaust and a carburetor emulsion tube). very great engine, just thout id let you know that with out the cover its gonna get HOT.

It must be quite a ride with a 500 cc 2 stroker on there . I am about to embarke on one of these builds and am wondering what shocks are on this machine ?
The shocks are Banshee atv on the front. Can am 650 cc atv on the rear. This is an easy build. It is good to see others projects. Here is my buggy with paint.
