Is there any good reason why this can't be done?

That's a good frame to put one in..

Anything can be done with enough courage.

Any thoughts on how you'll retain the IRS?
A FNR box can get pretty expensive but reverse is mandatory on a trail buggy--esp. one too heavy to lift.

I hope you do it. We need more mavericks.

Well, here is a bit of the story. I went a test drove a stock Joyner 250 here in San Diego. Not far, basically just around a parking lot. Let me say, the buggy is by far (in my opinion so don't start killing me) one of the best built I've seen. With that said, the motor wasn't enough. I know I can mod it and make it better, but it still won't make me happy  After taking a look at the Joyner 150 (for the kids) it was way too small, but an excellent ride for 5-8 year olds. Anyway, a stock 250 (minor upgrades)for the kids and my idea of a Joyner 250 frame with a GSXR600 powerplant with FNR gearbox in mine. Like TeamHog said, good frame, and I agree...it's stout as devilville. The deal is, I don't want to rig mine in anyway. I want it to be like showroom quality after the upgrade, and with parts available in case of breakage, other than minor fabrication to get the motor in...

Can you imagine.... I am! and trying to turn it into reality!

This is a list of every mod that I have done on a Joyner 250

Intake

K&N
Outerwear
rejet stock carb
30 mm Pumper carb
32 mm pumper carb

Electrical

Performance coil
Performance CDI(adjustable)
Performance CDI (rev delimited)
Iridium plug

CVT
15,17,18,19, 21 gram sliders
Blue Polini Torque spring
RED Torque spring(shorter/stiffer)
DR. Pulley Variator
DR. Pulley Hit Clutch

You would be p pleasantly pleased by the amount of performance gained by these mods. There is more in these engines than allowed at factory settings.

Glade

That is an excellent buggy to put that engine in. I might do the Fox shox upgrade, tho, too. The areas we ride out this way aren't really dependent on having reverse, so that's not as big of an issue as it would be back east, unless you hit some of the back trails at gorman.
