can any one tell me how i can adjust my brakes on a crossfire 150....it makes noise and i think maybe a little fine tunning will get rid of it or if someone can tell me something different i will appreciate it...i can move the calibur around a little with my hands but everything is as tight as it can be it seems the pads might be rubbing on the rotor its driving me insane...lol _________________ 05 tomberlin crossfire 150<-------
What's up sid, is the noise just from the front brakes? _________________ Kinroad Sahara 150,chrome intake

well i have figured it out,to any one elsthat owns a tomberlin crossfire the noise you might here comes from the fact that its a free floating calibur and the parking break wire puts a slight bind on the calibur in which it causes that freaking annoying rear end grinding noise...solution is to dissconnect the parking break cable all togeather _________________ 05 tomberlin crossfire 150<-------
You could try opening the bleeder valve on rear caliper, just
wrench it open and see if any air pops out, if so, close it back
up and ride and see if it improves.Im sorry but I don't know a
whole lot about tomberline models. _________________ Kinroad Sahara 150,chrome intake

Now I know all of you are going to flame me for this, but it WORKS, maybe not for your crossfire, but I have a crossfire R with front brakes also. my rear brake was making a terrible noise and a friend with a baja dune, told me to take out the oil dipstick and touch the brake rotor on both sides getting just a small amount of oil on the rotor, don't laugh it really works, the noise stops instantly !!!!! have tryed it on three different buggys that was making bad noise, fixed all, who cares if the rear brake works or not, front brakes will stop a stock buggy
You might try re-installing the parking brake, but with a little less tension. If the parking brake is too tight, it will cause the caliper to rub the rotor, creating noise. _________________ Sincerely,

I had a grinding/hissing noise coming from my rear brake that was constant and it ended up getting so bad it wore my pads down to raw metal.
Turns out it was bad axel bearings that caused my axel to shift side to side. That meant my brake disc shifted too, and didn't stay centered between the pads. Maybe lift your back wheels off the ground and see if your axel is stable. Just my thoughts. _________________ 05' Carter Talon GSX 150 2R

Ok, I'm not going to make fun of you, but I'm going to recommend something that doesn't have the side effect of "brake-neutralization".
When ours squeal and grind, I spray them with, ready for it: Brake Cleaner.
Probably works just a well as the grease, but keeps the brakes, ah, braking.
Ok, so maybe I had a little fun at your expense...and I do believe you that the oil works. _________________ American Sportworks 7150 & Lance Charger 150 --:The Other Buggies:-- "Um yes, these are modified, why?"
