| < Aftermarket and OEM Parts - Mini Buggy ~ anyone use no-toil to oil their filters? |

So I have this new uni filter I installed on the buggy and oiled it with the highly recommended product called no-toil. Anyone use this stuff? My main concern is how do I know when to clean the filter, and is it really working?
I drive in extreme conditions. I have to deal with major dust, grass, and other debris. The stock air intake would get blocked with a single leaf (very often) so the switch was a huge improvement.
Thanks!

I'm no specifically familiar with 'no-toil', but you clean the filter when it's caked with crud and/or when your performance starts to flag on you.
UNI filters are a terrific upgrade to our buggies. Have fun with it!

I use no-toil spray on oil. I like it easy to use and easy to wash off.If u use uni 2 stage buy a cuople and have a clean spare sieeve so when the outside gets gets some what crappy just replace it.I know sometimes its a pain to wash them all the time but if I run in alot of dust and mud I also oiled filter skins. _________________ Blade 150 DX

Thanks for the info! The filter change was part of a carb swap so I'm not sure how much it impacted the performance but I say my son absolutely loves the sound change of the engine!
He likes to do donuts and that kicks up a lot of dirt/dust. Our riding schedule is fairly routine so I'm planning on cleaning it after a few rides on a regular basis and letting it dry before the next ride. We get out on Saturdays so we have time to dry it.

Make sure the oil your using is designed for use on air filters. Other types of oil won't cling to the filter fibers and will get sucked into the motor causing the filter to go dry and fail. We found the uni's can get clogged real fast depending on trail conditions. If the filter gets too wet from spray or mud it can suck trash through. I wasted a set of rings because I ran a soggy uni too long. A dust caked/muddy filter will really hurt performance too. I now keep extras, oiled up, ready to install and stored in ziplock bags. As soon as one starts to clog, I swap it out. The dirty one goes into the bag with some cleaner. After a trip they all get cleaned, oiled and bagged up, ready to go next time. _________________ 3206 yerf. too many mods to list. easier to list what has not been modified- seats and steering wheel. plus one set of kidinme's hand made special collectors edition fuzzy dice. how do i wash an air filter that was sprayed with air filter oil? With water?, gasoline?. I used Fab1 spray-on filter oil.

There is actually uni Oil filter cleaner spray - stuff works great. Spray it on - wait a minute or two and rinse off with water. Let it dry, oil it up and you're good to go! _________________ Twister Hammer Head 250 - 2006
