Can't Engage Reverse

I just bought a used HammerHead 250SS. Hi-Lo, N work fine but I can't get reverse. It just goes to N, from the looks of the shifter it is not even going back to the reverse position.

for my joyner 250 i rev it in nuetral barely to like 2500 rpm let it go down and shift it into reverse works for me

Thank, I actually got it working earlier. I sprayed some penatrating grease on the linkage and the shifter itself yesterday and today it freed itself up and works great.

The previous owner doesn't appear to have been very good at pm. Laughing
