After spending hours deep into my CV Boot catalogs, I seem to have found CV Boots that fit the majority of our Karts.

They fit my wifes Roketa GK-06 perfectly on both the inner as well as the outer. The whole job done correctly, with dissasembly of the CV Joint, cleaning and reassembly took 1.5hrs with air tools, and would suspect it would take 2 with out air.

The CV boots are for a Geo Metro from 1989 to 2000, as well as many other. Parts America sells them under part # 61188 from PTC, and run 6.49 Ea. http://www.partsamerica.com/productdetail.aspx?MfrCode=PTC&MfrPartNum ber=61188&PartType=942&PTSet=A . If you wanted to go fancy, you could purchase Beck-Arnley's, I am sure it would add an easy 10mph Rolling Eyes . They list the dimesions on the link. Remeber these boots will stretch a little, as they are soft rubber unlike the originals.

Here is the outfit I purchased mine from. I made an offer and paid 35.00 for the set of 4. I am 75 miles from the closest Auto Parts store, so this saved me from the "drive". He had them on my door step within 4 days to boot. No pun intended of course. Rolling Eyes He also has a great listing of other vehicle that they fit. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&viewitem=&item=2202897314 86

While I was replacing rubber in the front, I also replaced the cracked front rack boots on the steering. Part # 614020 from Dorman
http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?MfrCode=DOR&MfrPartNum ber=614020 . They went on easy without having to remover the outer Tie Rod from the inner thanks to the stretching tool that was included.

Hope the part #'s help some folks out there. I am sure we all are out to save a few bucks on parts to spend in on fuel playing!!

Do you know what the small (axle) and large (CV joint) diameters of this boot are?
Thanks

Jaxn

.725" on the small end, 2.665" on the large end, and they are 3.555" long. The Parts America link on the top takes you right to the page with the specs, as well as a picture.

The boot measurements were a bit smaller than my end, but fit on like a glove. No, not like OJ's glove, but a surgical glove.

Turns out this is the same boot that the Artic Cat 330 and 500's use on the outer joint. This fits a dozen or more vehicles with the GKN axles. Likely the same size to save on production costs.

Here is a picture of the boots on the Kart. Have been trying to get the pictures taken, but I guess the camera hasnt liked our 40' days here.. Anyways, they fit great, infact I think better than the originals, and are soft rubber rather than the hard Chinese Plastirubber...

No geek you are right.. My camera doesnt like the cold weather, and by the time I got these photos out, it gave up thae ghost. I will try to upload the other pictures tommorow, yesterday and today was maintence and jetting.

When the weather is nice, my arthritis says lets work, when its bad, my camera wont work.. I think the two are in bed together..

Good info on the boots USMC, keep up the good work,
I think alot of people will go with these boots with
the softer rubber.
