Fuel consuption and long ride

My Manco 640L 10hp Robin Subaru has a fuel rating of 30-50 miles to a gallon,and it takes about about a gallon and half to fill it up.This is a strange place to post this message under engine clinic,but what ever size engine you have if you run out of gas you're hurting.I have been thinking about about the 60 mile ride,I don't have a rack to carry extra gas so I will have to strape in the passenger side,I don't know what else to do. mancoman

I don't know much about your buggy but I wouldnt trust the fuel claims. I dont beleive they are regulated like the car industry. My carter gets great milage I can run it for 4 hours in the trails and still have 1/4 tank when done. I dont know what the milage is but its good enough for me. That being said I dont know what your asking but carrying fuel needs to be done with caution. and make sure you have it secuired well in the machine a fire is the last thing you want in the buggy.
