The cdi and coil are more of an efficiency items. they make the spark hotter so it burns more of the fuel in the combustion chamber. _________________ Blade buggies,Carter buggy's, ams (manco) , joyner, parts for almost anything

I had a customer come from MT out to the local dunes. He was having carb issues and asked that I come out and rejet his carb. He asked that I bring a performance CDI with me.
After rejetting the carb it ran much better. He was able to move better in the sand that before. The next time out we installed the adjustable performance CDI. It was about 3/4 of full adjustment. It made a big difference. Throttle was more responsive and revved higher.
Over all it was an improvement over the Stock CDI.
He was so impressed that he bought another for his other Joyner sand viper.
That's odd that the cdi worked for you.. Cf moto? My testing the cdi had no change over my stock cdi. I called up Joel Martin owner of mrp and he confirmed that they didn't work on the cf moto engine as they are slightly different. He told me they are working on one that will work. My advice is if its gy6 or cn 250 it should work but if its cf moto save your money. _________________ Darren,

the adjustable one I have on my 250 works good, if you adjust it to much toward the advance side it wont crank good.
I havent tried the adjustable on for the gy6 yet. the one I have for the twister 150gt makes a big diff in rpm, smoother acceleration also
I have gotten bad cdi's from mrp before. _________________ Blade buggies,Carter buggy's, ams (manco) , joyner, parts for almost anything

I believe they work on cn 250 and gy6 engines. I'm just confused why Joel Martin would confirm what I tested that they don't work on cf moto. .. Or maybe just the hammerhead cf moto? ? Call Joel up and ask him if you think I'm making this up. And if you get cdis that don't work can you still return them considering there is no return on electrical parts? _________________ Darren,

Ok MRP has released the new cf moto cdi its black in color for the cf moto.
If thats the cdi you sold that just came out, i apologize it should work. (i havnt tested it)
The yellow one (for cn 250) wont work any better then stock on cf moto was my point. _________________ Darren,

I've been running the yellow adjustable one for a few months now, with the screw turned all the way counter clockwise. I ordered the black one yesterday, we'll see what the difference is very shortly. I don't know if it is the CDI that is causing my buggy to stall, pop and sputter at high revs or not but it started doing soon after I installed the yellow one. I should have the Black one tomorrow. _________________ Riding Dirty Team
