when im riding at slow speeds and starting off in low the buggy makes a popping sound and jerks a litte. i have checked the spokets and chain. i took the cvt cover off and inspected everything. it sounds likethe clutch graps and then slips and graps again. this is what i think the noise is. it acts like to me that the clutch spring isnt stiff enough to keep it engaged while in low. any ideas?

Could you have sheared some teeth in the tranny for the the low range?

have you tried to adjust the shifter cable? If some has tried to shift from low to high and visa versa it will shear off teeth inside the gear box

A stiffer clutch spring will make the engagement less. It will make the rpms need to rise in order to overcome the centrifugal force to make the clutch engage.

if you have shifted it before coming to a complete stop then you probably got the teeth in the gear box

when you say,

it did i every now and then at first. then i put a k and n and a pipe on and it got worst.

the poping got worse? how is it running on top end?

Does it sound like a metal on metal pop sound? Mostly happends under load and at certain mph mostly? We had that problem in high gear if its the same.. Ended up being warranty work. I don't remember what it was off hand I can call dealer Tuesday if need be to find out for you. Dealers weekend is Sunday and Monday back to work Tuesday.
