Hello all. I originally posted in another forum a week or so ago before I found BuggyNews but it turned out to be a fairly inactive place. (If either of the folks who responded over there are members here.....Hi there and thanks for responding.)
BuggyNews seems to be a much more active forum which is what I was looking for.
My name is Todd and I became a first time buggy owner just a couple of weeks ago. A co-worker of my fiance's sent out an email at work that they had this "cart thing" in their garage that was purchased for their kids and they lost interest in it after about two weeks. She just wanted it gone. I was able to pick it up for $500. I asked in the other forum if that was a decent price and have since been told that I basically "stole" it.
My new toy is a 2004 Yerf Dog GX150 Model 4209 with about 8 hours of use. I slapped a new battery in her and she fired right up. I think I have probably put more time on it since I've had it than its whole previous life! I have attached a few pics.
I have since added a UNI Filter, a High Output coil, an Iridium Plug and the High Performance CDI (the red one).
Anyway, hello to all of you BuggyNewsers! I look forward to being a part of this community!
Too late.... I've already been bitten by the mod bug. Planning on new 11 pole stator, new rectifier, shocks all around, added lights (which if you don't mind, I'll request your advice on as it seems you have figured out how to do it on the Yerf), new rollers and spring, winch (if I can figure out if the electrical system will run it), new jet, new tires maybe a CB radio and the list goes on and on.......
A couple of questions for you....
1. What does the Outerwears Precharger do?
and
2. Where can one find the Joyner roof rack and seatbelts you have on yours? _________________ 2004 Yerf Dog GX150

-HO Coil
-Performance CDI
-Iridium Plug
1. The precharger is just a breathable water resistant cover over the oiled air filter. It will keep your air filter cleaner for longer. I can clean and oil my filter once a year and just clean the cover after every one or two rides. Outerwears and K&N make similar products for your filter.
2. The Joyner rack was courtesy of a friend (Team Farm) on this site, but the belts and rack can be ordered directly through TeamJoynerUSA.com or from EdgePwr.com (Glade Mason is the preferred source for Joyner parts on this forum). If you need part numbers and pricing, I can look those up later.
3.There are many common parts in the 150cc GY6 buggy engines, but specialized Yerf-dog parts are BuggyDepot.com's specialty. You will find heavy duty parts that are not available elsewhere. You can download the service manual for your buggy at SpiderboxPerformance.com (part of Buggy Depot). _________________ 08 Joyner SandViper 250

CKAU is a YerfDogg member and he's done more mods than I can remember, so he would be another good one for advice, also ACBlind and TeamHog. There are other members here too with a wealth of YerfDogg information. Keep us posted with your mods! _________________ DRIVE IT LIKE YOU STOLE IT!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! I am having a great time so far. My fiance thinks I'm out of my mind. She wants to know why I can't leave anything the way I get it. Anyone got a real simple answer I can give her? Maybe I just need to get her a buggy of her own.
pgh- Thanks for the info on the Outerwares. I just ordered a blue one to match the kart. That red UNI really kind of clashes.
jus walk up to her and say " my name is---- and I am now an buggy addict " _________________ Blade buggies,Carter buggy's, ams (manco) , joyner, parts for almost anything
