The one I purchased is just the RZR, the RZR-S is cool but really doesn't fit the type of riding we do. I do see there are some other options for the 09. The orange "nuclear sunset" one is very cool.
I did at some larger rims and tires, widened it by 6". I'm not too worried about the 50" thing. Most of the trails by the cabin are wider than that and the supposed 50" ATV trail I'm willing to bet is knowhere near that. I have a hard time getting thru it on a dirtbike....Mark that trail maybe a good challenge for you !
It is a lot of cash and lately I've been working on reducing debt, and this goes directly agains that and my rule (which I don't always follow) of toys should be paid for. BUT it is a awesome machine and I'm sure we will use the hell out of it. I just plan on selling a couple of the other toys to help pay it off. Anyone interested in a quad or a 185hp snowmobile ?!

I have a dumb question, can you turn the AWD off? I hate the feel of trying to corner and having 4wd pull you around.
How does it corner with the wider rims? it looks a little tippy in stock (narrow) form. The only thing I have to compare it to is a rhino or buggy, and the buggy kicks the rhinos butt in hard cornering (although no comparison in every other aspect of performance).
thanks and congratulations

Yeah the steering response could be quicker on the Rzr. It's very slow and on twisty trails with lots of switch-backs you're doing hand-over-hand way too much. On the plus side it's very easy and almost feels like power steering. Rock & root hits don't hurt my wrists or threaten to snap off my thumbs, either. By comparison my Dune is very responsive. Sort of, well, go-kart-like but even with a padded race-type wheel it bangs up my hands.

oh and the AWD is a switchable on-demand system. When ON it engages the front drive only if the rear is spinning faster than the front (losing traction). It's a Hilliard clutch up front if ya wanna look it up. The rear is locked so it hurts turning radius and tears up the grass
.

I'm considering one of these so please pardon all the questions, BTW I like the locked rear.
Guy, do you have the wider rims? if so does it feel more stable? My brother had several CV shafts break on his Rhino (he drove it pretty hard, although not in the mud, just hard) does the RZR have any such problems that you have heard?
I understand what you are saying on the steering, I just bought and immediately sold the Pepboys/Costco buggy, the steering on that was so slow I had trouble getting through the woods without hitting trees, not nearly as fun as the twister style steering. Most of my riding would be like this (tight twisty wooded trails) and I want it to be fun.
thanks

Which buggy was that Kell? Was it that newer Baja Reaction/Dune that they were selling, but no longer list on their site? The red dune 150 from costco? It is odd... their reaction was the exact same buggy with different colors, BUT, now they removed the "dune 150" reaction type, and have the original dune 150 style listed... hmmmmmm..... lol
I want the RZR soooooo bad, but I cant justify the cost to the wifey just yet... I am still looking for a decent job, but when the time comes and I have a really good down payment, the RXR will be on the trailer, and the reaction is taking a hike!!!

John, here it is, it is a Baja Reaction 150, much improved front suspension, horribly oversprung shocks with ZERO dampening. I could tell it would take bumps/large hits better but the wheelbase was 14" longer than a twister with that extremely slow steering, just not fun to drive through the woods. Brakes were much improved, probably due to the increased leverage of the pedal, seatbelts are another story though . Cool looking buggy.

Are those OEM seats or aftermarket? They look pretty cumfy.. like riding the trails on a lazyboy.
Beats the hell out of the bench seat planks that came with my talon.

My goal was to stay at 50" wide so I could legally go anywhere an ATV is allowed. The standard black steel rims have an odd 6+2 offset (rear) to keep the tires tucked in very close to achieve that width. The only alloy rims with that offset were Polaris' own so I use them. Wider would feel more stable but the Rzr handles turns better than I thought it would. There are sway bars front and rear so maybe that helps a lot. My sand tires/rims setup puts me at 58" in the rear and that does feel way more flat-footed.
I have heard some complaints of breaking CV joints & axles but not so much in recent months. Part of the problem may have been owners learning you can't jump in 4WD or mat the throttle in the air without destroying stuff when you land. I've also read mention that Polaris beefed up the axles but I can't see any evidence of this. Whatever the reason, the complaints have stopped.

I have the exact same buggy... I hate it... I can only compare it to a Baja Dune 150, and a crossfire 150R, but to me, they are not even in the same class... The suspension is terrible... I already have a cracked frame at a weld for the passenger control arm, and the shocks are even worse.... Those seats are just leatehr (pleather) covers over bricks...dont let them fool you... They are as hard as riding on the frame rails...
Steering is a joke... Lets just say, thank god for reverse on that buggy... I am selling it if BJs wont take it back with the cracked frame... I may just weld it back and sell it and try to put the money away for the RZR in the future....
