| < Engine Clinic - Mini Off Road Buggy ~ problems with my XYKD260-1 |
|

|
|
I have a 2006 XYKD260-1 Like new less than 30 hrs. I have eliminated the fuel as the problem. It will start right up, run for approx. 40seconds then dies. It will start right back up and run for approx. 20 sec. then starts right up, runs for approx.10 sec. and dies. It will not start after that without setting for awhile. The coil gets warm but not hot while running. I replaced the CDI and the new one gave the same resulte one time and nothing after that.Put the original CDI back in and does the same thing as before. I have checked all the wires without finding any problems. I live in a remote area and need help. I just recenly found this web site and hope that some of you that are more experianced and knowledgable can help.
thanks

check the connectors at the coil, they can come loose. also check the fuel filter, sometimes they are put on backwards. also lossen the drain on the bottom of the fuel bowl after it quits the last time to see if it has fuel in it _________________ Blade buggies,Carter buggy's, ams (manco) , joyner, parts for almost anything

Thanks for the hints but I have tried all of that and more. I am sure it is not fuel related. It acts like something is just turning the switch off.
Thanks again

If you are sure its not a fuel flow problem or a float problem the only thing left is to start tracing your wiring from the switch back. pay attention to anyplace the wires touch the frame. you may have a short that only hits wile the buggy is vibrating. _________________ 06/07 GSX 150 Carter Talon

I have taken the wiring harness apart once and could not find anything but will try again. My ignition switch is a sealed, moulded type and I am wondering if it could be in the switch itself.
thanks

what about the valves,i'm not sure how the valves adjust on your engine and if you don't think its electrical or fuel. maybe the valves are alittle tight now after putting 30hrs on it and they have seated in farther now making them not have enough valve lash so they are not closing all the way.then getting to run for about a minute 10 second the valves are expanding enough not to close all the way making the problem worse.then after a while engine cools back down vlaves close enough to start again.
hope that make since to you, just my thoughts

I have had this exact same issue just today on the same buggy , oldtimer did you find a solution ? I thought fuel and maybe the valve under the tank ? I also am giving my battery another charge in case thats it.
