I have a 2008 Twister Hammerhead 250 SS go kart. I dig it. (see my review in Mini Buggy reviews)

Well, the 250SS comes with a speaker system that will allow you to attach and mp3 player, cd player or whatever. They're not very loud and the sound quality isn't great, but I'd rather have them than not.

I searched around and decided to purchase the Jensen JHD910, with antenna and speakers on eBay. I got the system by mail and installed it a few days later on my Twister kart.

It is awesome for my needs. I have mounted the speakers firing forward and the head unit is overhead, but out of the way. The wiring harness we easily hidden under caopy on the hh's overhead where mirror mount is.

I've been crusing around the farm with the system installed for a couple of weeks ago and it works great. It's not loud like a car stereo, but the way I have installed them, they suit well. I don't want them any louder and the Jensen works great. If I did want louder, I'd use same head unit and add amp! I still haven't removed the old rear fire speakers...I may add them too for mo' umph at times.

Towing!...while I am at it lemme tell you about towing with the SS. Today I towed my '68 serro scotty camper up and down from the woods to our garden. It did great. It shocked my wife and dog...

Thats a nice little head unit. I have the speakers on my 150ss but I rarely use them. They're not really loud enough with a helmet on and my exhaust. They are nice however to put on some tunes if you take a long ride and stop for a break.

Nice job on the towing!

Jamie

Update:
My twister hammerhead 250ss is over a year old now and has 330 miles on it. So far it is still running well. I've done no mods other than a custom exhaust bracket and the jensen stereo upgrade. Looking for 400 miles this summer. [-o<
