Hope Im not drivin you guys nuts yet but still havnt got Hurricane 250 runnin right yet.(Brand New had for 1 mo now.) The buggy starts up and runs perfect now and strong as can be through entire power band.(Thanks to BIGE.) But will only run for about 3-5 min and then the fuel filter is bone dry. Had this issue before mods. I have checked the gas cap even run without it with no difference. Taken the petcock off taken both filters off of it and run a straight line to carb with no inline filter. I know thats not ideal but trying to eliminate possibe problems. Have also shortened fuel line and ran it at a 30 deg angle straight to carb. No peaks or valleys. When the hose is off at the carb I have great fuel flow. I have also checked some wiring but everything seems tight. What else can I check? Seems like it almost has to be something in the carb. Thanks for any suggestions. Affraid if I take this thing apart one more time I will have wallered out all holes and wore out all clips. LOL
I did have that problem with my 250. I went to 3/16 fuel line all the way to the carb, put a barb fitting on the tank and a manual shut off valve. that might work for you.
you should not have to do that with a brand new buggy _________________ Blade buggies,Carter buggy's, ams (manco) , joyner, parts for almost anything

I currently have stock fuel line and a manual shutoff petcock. I will try that at some point but fuel flows too well when line is disconnected from carb. Just dont want to mask some other issue. Is there something on or in carb that pulls fuel or air through the line. Almost seems like a possible vacuum issue to me. Once the fuel filter runs dry it takes about 1hr for it to fill back up. For some reason it takes fuel and replaces with air. WHY? No leaks on lines and no resistance from fuel source.
alright just for the heck of it conect only the top half of the carb to the fuel line and see what happens then just start adding part to the carb and see when it stps flowing.just a process of elimanation.
I had the same problem where the fuel flow could not keep up with the demand but like it was recommended to you install a larger fuel line. I did and also bought a fuel filter from Napa to get rid of that chinese junk filter and it improved a world over. Now the fuel starvation only happens when I go for a mostly wide open run of about 5 mins or longer before it can't keep up with fuel; but I think that has to do with the vacuum petcock which I will be changing soon to a manual gravity flow. _________________ '07 Titan II- mostly stock (mods to come!)
Only changes so far are minor electrical, Kawasaki SXS rear shocks, homeade canvas top.
Thank you Jesbgy for suggestions. I think that changing the petcock to larger one that is gravity fed is the only thing that I have not tried yet.(unless something could be wrong inside carb.) Currently running no gas cap, no intank filter, no petcock filter, petcock bored out as far as possible, and 1/4 fuel line directly to carb with no inline filter. Still problem like when fuel is taken in it replaces the line with air. No fuel in line or filter when connected, and when you unhook something like filter or line at carb or before and after fuel filter, fuel runs out perfectly.
i had the same problem with my 250. The petcock shutoff valve on my HH has 3 settings, full, 1/2 (?) and off. My flow was set in the half position for the longest time. If I got down to about a quarter tank it had the same flow problems. Maybe your valve is in the wrong spot if it has the three options. Now I can run the tank dry without issues. The valve lever should be in the up position.
